  1. EU & USA Trade deal paves way for Cybertruck in Europe

While certainly any vehicle will hurt, getting sliced by the stiff, cold, unfolded edge of a pointy bit of stainless steel has a different survival rate than being hit by something less formidable. You can choose to ignore that, but you can't really dismiss that. Pedestrian deaths are reported...
  2. First Impressions in Helsinki (Finally allowed to sit in one)

Last weekend the Cybertruck made a surprise visit to the Tesla showroom near Helsinki (technically in Vantaa). It was unannounced and I got the feeling even the staff were caught off guard (especially by the Finnish UI). Regardless, I finally got to sit in one. Maybe it's just time, me, the...
  3. Cybertruck Sales Launch in Korea! 🇰🇷

Right, so indeed very high prices for the CT... I'm guessing it'll be a pretty niche product (but then I don't know anything about the Korean car market).
  4. EU & USA Trade deal paves way for Cybertruck in Europe

It's possible the surprise appearance of the Cybertruck in helsinki, with a Finnish translated UI (as posted here: https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/cybertruck-viewed-with-finnish-language-ui.47092/) was a hint at this. However one should be careful in the reading of these...
  5. Cybertruck Sales Launch in Korea! 🇰🇷

Pretty steep prices, but are those at all in line with the rest of Tesla's lineup?
  6. Cybertruck viewed with Finnish language UI

The Cybertruck has made a surprise and unannounced appearance at the Tesla showroom in Vantaa, Finland. What was particularly notable was that this time round the UI was shown with a Finnish translation. Including Cybertruck-specific features like offroad driving. Doing translations is not, of...
  7. X User claims EU Cybertruck release 2026

At that price they'll sell five. Having said that, the market is still practically wide open for a utilitarian 4x4 EV in Europe. One that could actually do a bit of towing too.
  8. CYBERTRUCKco takes on the Rubicon!

That is a different truck and effort. Also I'm not sure how 'significantly damaged' it was. The thread leaves it unresolved. The sheet metal now has dimples at the connection points, possibly from some flex, but it didn't seem to be clear where that was from. And I believe it did not affect the...
  9. CYBERTRUCKco takes on the Rubicon!

This was one of my concerns with steer-by-wire. In an offroad situation you would want to feel exactly where the wheels are and what is happening. Well actually, I'd want that in any driving :)
  10. CYBERTRUCKco takes on the Rubicon!

I can’t speak for Rivian. I have no in depth knowledge of their operation other than what was written and that apparently it made it through without mechanical failures (the other Rivian was support). Sliders and larger tyres would be sufficiently ‘stock’ for a Defender in my view. I just...
  11. CYBERTRUCKco takes on the Rubicon!

Actually at least one Rivian has done it too. Stock. With reportedly no mechanical failures. So this Cybertruck report is perhaps less than stellar?
  12. CYBERTRUCKco takes on the Rubicon!

I think Jeeps and Land Rover have done this trail stock. And without constantly having to fix some rods?
  13. OFFICIAL 2024 Cybertruck Pricing, Specs, Mileage/Range, Dimensions, Weight, Info

Well, incompetence is a bit better than outright lying, I guess :-) Tbh the prices were a big part of the appeal, as they spoke of mass market targets. Certainly the manufacturing model and interior all speak 'volume'. The prices don't, though, so it's all a bit confusing and the delivery event...
  14. Jason Camissa's Cybertruck Review Video & Podcast -- A MUST WATCH

Steer by wire with no mechanical backup is absolutely not an improvement. The jury is still out on whether variable steering is an improvement too. Top Gear mentioned not getting used to it even after 2 days. Really the only reviewer I really trust these days is Teslabjorn. He doesn’t suck up to...
  15. Tesla Engineer Saying No to Europe

In the Top Gear article, Lars Moravy, VP of Engineering, seems to strongly hint that it will not come to Europe. The reason being that apparently European regulations require corner radius for edges to be such that is not possible with thick stainless steel...
  16. Sun Visor, Glove Box, Frunk, Wiper Review

It's interesting that when he bangs the bonnet, the sound is much 'thinner' than what seems to come from the doors. That would confirm suspicions that the bonnet metal is thinner so as to provide a crumple zone and maybe, just maybe, help with European pedestrian regulations.
  17. Well that was weird…

It was indeed one of the most anticlimactic events ever, given all the hype. It was embarrassing and difficult to watch, including the faffing around with 'oh there's another one..?'. It was like some clueless slightly drunk idiot was thrown on stage after having 2 minutes earlier being briefed...
  18. Email received: Cybertruck reservation holders asked to buy something else "while you wait"?

Meanwhile EV prices have actually come down. Including Tesla's. So that excuse doesn't really cut it.
