Using 2.7.18 Alpha, I set as client base for the vehicle/home, and client mute for my tdeck. I use well placed repeaters in client mode, then only use routers role to connect other meshes together.
I've been using the tdeck from inside with the stub antenna upgrade and it's working pretty well, however the tbeam 1.1 with stock antenna doesn't get anything out (sitting on the dash). So my thinking (in order to have a clean aesthetic) is to put an 90° L Track mount, with a signal+ 8db...
My use case would be meshtastic Lora, so I'd be utilizing the onboard starlink over wifi connection to the device mounted on the molle panels in the bed, then using the bed outlets for power.
That's definitely a consideration whether you'd have to sit in the driver seat or not. I think that would be awfully petty personally and not good for customer retention. Half glass empty I could see the consideration though.
There's talk of a Lite version of FSDU that'll work with HW3, not sure what that means exactly or what sacrifices that entails. Ultimately it'd be awesome if they beefed it up at no charge but there are avenues for HW3 that may work for most.
Ohh no worries, then you're good 👍🏼 you got the AI4 hardware so FSDU will be good. If they come out with something better then yeah will probably have to go out of pocket. Honestly I'm good with FSDU and whatever they come up with that's better like NASCAR mode or something that would require...
Not hating, cool upgrades, by my stock AWD with stock R20" & stock off-road tires can do that. I use the lockers regularly and have only lost a few mud flaps.
