The front and rear castings are aluminum, the “cabin” is steel. They are essentially bolted together. The genius is the front and rear shatter or crush and can be replaced the steel box stays intact.
The rivnuts they use for this are sealed at the bottom and have a sealing edge to prevent water intrusion.
you also need the rivnut tool (can buy on amazon or at any big box “diy” store, self etching primer, a REALLY good set of drill bits rated for steel, with a 9mm (or 23/64 sae) bit, cutting...
I strongly advise you try to have a SC do it. The engineering of this fix was not meant to be consumer or DIY friendly. The steel of the ct body is really hard.
2 ways to do this:
make a service appointment for other:
over the counter parts purchase: (list part number/ quantity.)
i was able to do this successfully for the parts as they had them in stock.
Or
go on site and put in a CB VIN and order the parts that way.
I agree with that.
Happens to me a lot since 14.3, i dont disengage but i do bug report it. That and dry wiping has become way more frequent. I turn off autowipe as soon as i engage fsd, and same thing, bug report.
Awd or beast? I do notice that in low/sport. The suspension tends to be very stiff, due to the weight of the vehicle small bumps do transmit a lot more. Recently, I have turned off auto raise and have been keeping it in medium.
You can set the tailgate to an angle using the upper attachments (default is the lower ones so the tailgate lowers to flat position) so the quad at least cant freely roll off the back, but either way, make sure its secured to the truck
Oof. You are right. See image below.
edit: for some reason the site has not been loading photos or videos for me… anyway referenced part is :
1799805-00-F: $765.00
I have one missing myself, i dont see a separate part number listed on the EPC and it looks like the wiper arm is sold as one assembly. Might be worth asking Service for the OTC part?
