Once production is in site, and if the pricing is close to the original numbers (big if), I kind of like the idea of creating an additional deposit (different than the reservation hold) to purge reservation holders who aren't serious.
Spitballing here and obviously this would cause an uproar...
Right, 500 miles for the Tri-motor but will there be a tri-motor or will it be dual and quad only? Many unanswerable questions at this point. Should all be clearer by the end of the year as Y production ramps up in Texas.
I don't think there will be a lot of European interest in the Cybertruck...
I have road tripped my Model Y LR enough to say that with home charging and the Supercharger network, I'd be perfectly happy with a 300 mile range CT. Bump that to 400 and that would be nice but not essential. People who don't own a Tesla and or don't have home charging are prone to...
Due to limited production, the initial CyberTrucks (before 2025) will be like the prototypes e.g. more standard transportation, recreational vehicle than a work truck. A subsequent model could emerge as a more typical work truck with needed accessories.
I get what @TomGriff is saying but the Oregon coast while beautiful, is so remote that Oregonians or travellers up that coastline would have issues with EV"s. I live a sheltered life mostly in CA with trips to see the kids in Dana Point and Fresno (ouch). The wife and I range from Monterey Bay...
Despite all the noise, I still believe that the title of this thread is correct and we will see significant Cybertruck production in 2023. I really like the Rivian design and available features and even the Ford Lightning is a nice enough pickup, but I will wait for the crazy looking, hard to...
The SB ads were indicative of a new marketing opportunity for marketing driven industries like automobiles. Tesla is the auto industries much needed disruptor and they are redefining the transportation landscape.
More EV options is a good thing but as was noted in this excellent presentation...
I was interested in the obvious shot at Tesla by the Salesforce ad featuring the notoriously weird and self indulgent Mathew Mccon-something.
Tesla has no salesforce and therefore has no interest in the overpriced customer (prey?) management software. Guess that makes Tesla a target for the...
Update on this important issue specifically the long distance comfort factor. I have made 6 trips of 500+ miles with the Model Y LR. On 4 of those I had a hitch bike rack with 2 ebikes and the interior was fully loaded. In regard to the ride, it can be a bit jittery on rough roads but never to...
You heard it here folks. No way the CT will be in full production until 2024-25. I think those hot to trot early reservation holders (say up to 130,000) should chancel those reservations and take that $100 bucks and put it toward ordering a Rivian or Lightning.
You can always come back to...
Due to the overwhelming success of the Model 3 and Model Y, Tesla understands the importance of a great product at a reasonable price point for volume selling. They are making great profits and they did that with literally zero marketing which is a huge expense for other auto manufacturers. We...
My wife and I have the 2021 Model 3 SR and Model Y LR respectively. Both cars were leased (3yr) from Tesla (insurance is Tesla too) but no FSD. The cars are our daily drivers and I have a Dec 3rd 2019 Cybertruck reservation. That should work well for a 2024 CT delivery.
The MY and M3 are...
Interesting to see the photos and video. I have never found this vehicle attractive but I'm good with the look because there is sound engineering behind the form. My priorities are the vehicles utility and that starts with reliability (design simplicity), range, maneuverability, cargo handling...
I had a leased 2018 Range Rover and sold it to Carmax for $4K more than the lease buyout. It was a beautiful car and was fun to drive but honestly, the pod car looking Model Y is more affordable, comfortable, has more internal volume for passengers plus luggage and is even more fun to drive...
