Completely not up to them. It's a safety issue. The database is public info. End of discussion.
If they don't want the info being used a certain way, don't make cars. That's the choice.
Nobody can know if they have recalls published on their vins because tesla is blocking that server connection to NHTSA, as well as to the vin lookup on their site. Now that there is a potential recall/safety issue, I hope they get into legal trouble for not having this information available...
If only we were advanced enough to have a system where we could punch our vin numbers in and know if we were part of the recall... Tesla can do a lot of bullshit and we all just have to tolerate it, but this is a potential safety issue. The time for these childish games are over, open up the...
It took me a few tries to get some rail dust off, may be the same with significant staining. You have to let it sit a bit, then scrub. Don't be afraid to use a lot (as long as it doesn't drip down on the plastic) and scrub a lot. Just don't let it get past 60 seconds before you neutralize it...
No, nor did he indicate that for sure they would put it in the system as something they owe me. They are very specific to not give answers that sound concrete. Anything I told him was news to him.
Alright, I've had a couple of days to catch up on sleep, and collect some thoughts about the vehicle. Today is day 3 of driving it, I've done rain at night, fog, etc.
Delivery experience:
I arrived 30 minutes early at my showroom, and my truck was ready to go. They let me check it out...
We know, but the rep at our showroom tried to pull out his phone and say "oh it only says 'premium accessories'" when I asked if they knew when I'd be getting the D rings that weren't in there. I had to pull out my phone, go to the D ring store page, and show him that it said the foundation...
I'm also looking into this. The rear camera is crap. It's so poorly cropped, everything looks so far away.
Plus, there's still the issue where the blind spot cameras remove the rear view from the display no matter what settings you have. The only way to keep the rear mirror up full time is...
Just to check in here. There is definitely a ton of rail dust on mine. I'm still working through all of it. One of the spots, as I cleaned, it looked more and more like it was pitted. But by the time I was finished with it, The surface was perfectly smooth. Took 3 hits of BKF, increasing...
There aren't words.
I didnt sleep enough last night to make a post with coherent thoughts yet. Every day of waiting, all of the griping that I did, all of the lack of communication and information... Every piece of it was worth the wait, 100 times over.
"I'm confused, you acted upon wrong information that tesla provided you, that makes this your fault for not knowing it was wrong"
-everyone replying to this thread.
For starters, you'd be the first reporting that molle panels and bed divider are included.
As for this, completely not relevant. Markup on AWD and Beast was the same $20k for the foundation series. Unless stuff comes with non FS beasts that doesn't come with non FS AWD, it should really not...
LOL, well they told me 3/27 when I asked upon vin assignment (3/15), so naturally as it got close to that I asked them again. I probably didn't ask the second time until 3/25, but that's neither here nor there. Then it moved, and moved, and moved. Also, I didn't call them, I had an email...
And how many people come here asking what the timeframe is, or swearing they had a jan-march beast order, because that information is deliberately masked by the time the order shows up in your app?
That's step 1 of tesla being stupid.
Step 2 of tesla being stupid is pretending that tesla has...
Vin by june, maybe. Delivery? less likely.
Ohio was 27 days vin to delivery for me, and that's almost the same trip as PA.
If it was me, I'd wait, even if it meant I had to rent a car, because even in the worst case it should be there by ~end of june. PA will also probably not be a...
I know one of your favorite hobbies is explaining how if tesla does a thing, that must be the correct way, but you really go to far with it.
Who said anything about daily updates? Ever? Order any vehicle from any manufacturer. They will know nothing for some period of weeks after...
Sorry you couldn't take your truck home, but unfortunately they don't have a way to tell you anything useful. Tesla keeps several degrees of separation between you and useful information. They usually seem (pre-delivery especially) to not even want to tell you what the problem is. So learning...
