Agreed. It has to have the space, I think having a little bit of rugged capability helps.
But I don’t think I can look insane like the Cybertruck.
Can it be made of stainless steel? Maybe, depending on how they design it. But it would have to be your choice of wrap from the factory. I believe...
Not bad. I’m surprised Tesla doesn’t have a real SUV at this point. I think a Tesla Tahoe-sized vehicle that seats 7 and has a ton of cargo space and 400 miles or more of range would be a great seller.
I’m sure that’s part of it. And I think you hit the nail on the head of not being jealous of the truck itself. I think most of those haters would unanimously state they absolutely despise the look of it, which I totally understand. It is absurd, but I think in its own unique, interesting way...
That sucks. I’ve unfortunately had to answer the question “daddy, why is that lady screaming at us?” to my young kids. It was really unsettling for them.
It’s unfortunate, but what I have found is, if you buy one of these, you are also buying a front row ticket to a serious mental health...
So wholesome. This was a standard reaction early-mid 2024 before the truck was politicized and attacked by the media.
This was like my reaction when I first saw one in person and drove it.
There was a line out the door to buy one with millions of pre orders. Two things happened.
Remember back to 2019, this was priced to be an everyman vehicle. Cheaper and more capable than an f150. Utilitarian, affordable, fun and something different.
Then Tesla launched it at “Rich Guy” prices...
Sprayaway is great, but if the truck is super dirty, I found it easier to do a five minute hose down with traditional car, wash soap. Let that dry and then do it once over with spray away once dry. I’ve never spent more than 15 minutes cleaning this truck.
Curious to see what Tesla themselves say the value is.
the math i would do is to calculate your intended supercharging value over say 5 or 10 years to see if it makes sense
Foundation-Skipping, First-Model-Year-Issue-Waiting, Tax-Credit-Holdout Club…
Patience is a virtue. Good on you.
Seems like now is as good a time as ever as Trump has made his stance pretty clear on the future of a tax credit existing, with agreement from Elon. (This is not a political statement).
My wife didn’t like the looks of it in pictures. We rented one for the day and she was sold. It is so much more smooth and comfortable than not only any truck but really almost anything else out there at all.
I recommend either test driving one from Tesla or trying to rent one for the day from...
I very much agree. I wouldn’t have agreed a year ago because the product should speak for itself, but it’s now to the point where everyone on earth is aware of this thing… but a combination of what almost seems like an actual paid smear campaign, on top of a negative social media engagement...
Seems to be one of those benefits that would appeal to a first time EV owner. Most people I speak to don’t realize I charge at home 99.9 percent of the time. Supercharging is for long distance trips only (for me).
now it is a huge benefit to someone who commutes a lot daily and street parks...
Yeah and nothing against the sienna or whatever else… all new cars have ballooned in price over time. So for those who want new, you have to choose your ridiculous. That said, relative to almost anything else new, the Cybertruck feels like a bargain.
Spend 61k on a minivan, nobody bats an eye. Spend 79k on a cybertruck, everyone loses their minds.
really though, OP, congrats on the purchase. Ive found my truck to be an amazing, quiet, comfortable family vehicle… that happens to also be a truck, be bulletproof and look insane
You can see the cell phone in her hand in this pic!
This is my number one case for autonomous driving. How long until FSD is as good as the world’s best driver? Could be never.
But it’s already better than a lot of people, and those tend to be the ones that cause accidents.
I think I see the same thing happening for me. In my case, my truck has always been very quiet. One of the reasons I liked it vs other trucks. But at sub 20 degrees I feel like there’s more wind noise above 35-40mph. I’m guessing it has something to do with materials contracting just slightly...
