I've tallied 10k miles on mine, so far. The glass has already proven itself stronger than what I had on previous cars. The stainless, while a fingerprint magnet, has proven every bit as tough as promised. I'm on vacation, right now, at Glacier National Park, and yesterday, I drove Going To The...
80% is a good everyday limit to set. When road-tripping, you'll want to charge just enough to get to your next supercharging location (but give yourself a few % pad). That way, you're not charging for a longer time than you need to be, and your next charging session will begin at a deeper...
I just wanted to echo this post because I'm getting similar numbers with my 6' x 12' cargo trailer. I usually load it up, close to its 3500# capacity, and I'll get right around 250 miles, depending on conditions. My trailer does have a slight wedge shape in front, for less-punishing...
While the lack-of-Supercharger negative will be mitigated in the near future, it won't go away completely. Non-Tesla EVs won't have access to the entire Supercharger network until all V1 and V2 Superchargers get upgraded to V3 or above. With as big a battery as the Silverado EV has, you probably...
Thanks for sharing those points. I had no idea the Chevy charger doesn't allow for amperage adjustment - that's a feature I use every day. Probably not a big deal to most folks, but something that would sway my decision, for sure.
Where are you getting the DBE-Cathode = 10-20% range improvement figure from? My understanding was that DBE was a manufacturing cost-reduction, rather than an energy density increase.
You're not crazy. My wife and I have both experienced the same, radical change in our perception of other vehicles. I expected it to be an adjustment, but I never guessed it would lead to active avoidance of driving other vehicles.
That sucks; sorry to hear about your misfortune. I have the reverse problem, in terms of collision avoidance - I get the warning alerts for vehicles I'm already slowing down for, and in no danger of actually hitting. Seems a little quick to freak out.
Don't forget the CT fell off the concrete tubes, banging the ass-end pretty hard on the way down. Then, when trying to pull the Ford down, they were basically pulling it further into the groove that it got stuck in - they were pulling against the concrete tubes as much (or more) as on the Ford...
Don't forget that Tesla is working toward eliminating the cobalt - the limiting factor of NMC.
The contention that cylindrical cells are an impediment is so ill-conceived that I won't bother to address it.
Towing. I love my CT, but when I'm towing my cargo trailer with my 4-wheeler and camp gear, I have to admit that I'd appreciate whatever additional range might be possible.
My wife and I have been suffering the same problem. Now, when we both need to go different places, at the same time, it's a race to get to the Cybertruck first. Driving other vehicles now feels unsafe.
Has anyone tried out the Michelin Defender LTX Platinums on the Cybertruck? The way I'm racking up the miles, I feel like I'd better make a plan for my next set of tires. ROFL My wife and I, and our two dogs have covered about half of the Lower 48 already, and we're determined to cover the other...
I get likewise fantastic mileage during my "everyday driving". But I live out West, and when I take to the highways, where speed limits are often 80mph, the efficiency definitely drops. Not nearly as much as everyone kept telling me it would... I still tend to get about 2 miles/kwh (500wh/mile)...
I split my 6000 miles (actually 7000 miles) into two different trips, but I likewise camped the whole time - both trips. My wife and I took our two dogs, and the experience was FANTASTIC! Have fun!
I took delivery of my CT AWD in May. I had a HORRIBLE experience with the installer Tesla paired me with (Qmerit is apparently not involved with my PowerShare installation). The installer disaster began back in February, but we were able to reach an agreement in May, just after I took delivery...
I doubt many reservation holders are cancelling, but SOME probably are... pricing isn't what we originally thought it would be. I'm thinking MOST invitees are passing on FS, and waiting to place a regular order. There's value in the FS add-ons, but it's not $20k worth - FS is definitely premium...
