Yep. That's him. My guess is that he's got a plan for a follow-on video about repairing the holes in the stainless steel. His video included a comment about the friend who was going to patch the holes afterward.
I ordered/configured AWD on 12/26/23 for delivery in Pleasant Grove, Utah - still no VIN. Zach, from JerryRigEverything (on YouTube) configured the same, on the same day, and he got his a few weeks ago.
That's an excellent point. It seems highly unlikely Tesla would bother with electrical wizardry to parallel charge the two 400v halves while discharging in an 800v series. And all that to do something against their intended operating conditions.
Nice catch!
I saw a video on YouTube where someone managed to get a Model 3 to run while charging from a large LiFePO4 battery and inverter in the back seat. That led to me to wonder if I could use the big battery and inverter in my trailer to charge while en-route, using the mobile adapter. I hadn't...
I went through the same cost analysis, but my needs/wants resulted in a different outcome. I too was leaning toward passing on the Foundation because I'm also hoping they'll honor the FSD reservation pricing. But I haven't got a PowerWall, so I would probably end up getting the...
That's in-line with my expectations. My trailer isn't huge, but it's not small either. It doesn't carry a great deal of weight, but the losses to mass can at least be partially mitigated through brake regen. At the end of the day, the losses will but what they will be. I'll learn what my loads...
Thanks!
This is my first EV, so I haven't been as conscious of the SCs I've seen as I should have been. But I did notice a pull-through stall at a SC along I-70, on my way to Colorado Springs.
If you follow the YouTube channel Now You Know, their weekly Tesla Time News always includes...
I've noticed a lot of pull-through additions as well, and I'm looking forward to many more to come. For now, it'll be an occasional inconvenience, but the reality is that 90%+ of my driving will be done with power that comes from the solar panels on my roof, via an outlet in my garage. The...
I'll take my trailer out and test the range as soon as I get my CT. A couple who live down the street from me lost about 50% range pulling a 5000# trailer, similar to mine. Mine only weighs about 2500# fully loaded though. I'll let y'all know what kinda hit the range takes. That's also going to...
Already know the range of my Escape. Towing my new trailer with the Escape cut my range down to 200 miles. What's more, the Escape couldn't manage more than 60 miles per hour. It's the size and shape of the trailer, more than the weight of it. The Escape is simply a non-starter in this contest...
I was sitting down to look at the stock market, when I noticed I had an unread email notification. I opened up my inbox and found my Foundation Series invite! With the changes to pricing and range, I opted for the dual motor, instead of the tri motor, since my primary interest is range, not...
I started logging my weekly miles driven back when the Toyota Prius was all the rage. I was curious to know if it could really save me money by reducing my fuel consumption. In that case, the time for ROI was too long to justify merely replacing my commuter car (I was already driving a pretty...
Boondocking generally refers to driving to a remote camping location, where there are no services or amenities nearby, for a camping getaway/vacation. In the United States, this often means camping on Bureau of Land Management land, where there are no established campgrounds, no power, no...
