Breeze... I'm right with you at around 35-40K. I also waited until the next day. But you and me will be driving our beasts next year for sure while about 1.5 mill will be watchin!
My take is that TSLA will lose money initially on the truck, but it's the cost of getting out a unique product at an affordable price. Elon wants to get the initial units out there in the public, ergo: more sales and interest. That's his genius. I'm betting he gets out over 50K units in 2024...
Elon's got eyes... he sees what's goin on. I don't think he will go price crazy when he and everyone else are dropping price points. His reveal said " affordable ". I don't believe he will go back on that.
Tesla HQ employee told me reservations approaching 3 million. Elon hinted the numbers are off the chart when he was speaking about the lighting recently.
Just opinion, but I think the pricing will be reasonable. The Y's were in the 80's, now down to 47K with a $7500 fed tax credit. And according to Tesla dealer... one of best selling vehicles right now. So I believe Elon will not raise prices too much higher than the reveal. Fingers crossed.
Thanks Josh. The Tesla rep who was just at the factory, picked up his information from Tesla people who were at the recent showcase. Hard to know for sure if the info is accurate, but he was pretty definite on the 3 million orders.
