I ended up installing a generator interlock plug and have a 30' RV power cord that I can power my house with, but seriously Tesla, why do I have to plug it in like a cave man after swapping over and this setup is not a viable every day usage scenario.
V2H V2G is insanely easy for them to...
Literally 1% of CT owners
To have a 100kw battery without being able to use it from an energy company is crazy.
Tesla really needs to step it up on V2G V2H with this MASSIVE battery
Yea that is the problem, if you get rear-ended and they total your truck the insurance company will give you $400 for FSD "add on" that you can then no longer buy.
My guess is after Feb 14th Elon will allow owners to keep their FSD tied to their Tesla account, really the only way to be fair...
If a large scale EMP hits your cellphone and Cybertruck will be bricks, a bicycle will get you around the fastest at that point. Roads will be jammed full of broken down vehicles.
Yea, FSD does WAYYY better on the highway so odds for 0 interventions is higher, but still, have to pull of to supercharge etc.
While I think if the stars REALLY aligned it is doable, but agree that it seems really unusual for car to go coast to coast, more less a few hundred miles without the...
I tend to hold and use vehicles a long time (300,000 miles +)
Hoping the trucks and batteries hold up as well as well maintained ICE vehicles and if they do the $ spent will be well worth it.
What I worry about now is if some idiot clips me and totals my CT the FSD and lifetime supercharging are...
For a weekend you are golden for power, assuming you can charge the truck and arrive with a high state of charge.
If you are doing over-landing etc a generator is really the only option
Drove a Jeep for about 6 years and went through about 8 windshields.
The ANGLE of the windshield is a REALLY big deal.
The downside of the CT is we have that HUGEEEE dash and stupid hard to clean windshield, BUT it is at such a low angle that it really helps deflect.
That is tough, but with 12 days of airport parking ($150?) you could likely get an uber there and partway back.
Risk/reward of having a dead battery when you get back.
Also consider the cost the phantom drain will be $50 if you get back with a low battery and need to supercharge on the way...
White and chalky visually
Don't do "truck stuff" that involves loose debris, dirt, rocks, hay, etc
It falls down between the cracks, gets stuck in the diaper and around the battery/compressor
Use a bed mat, use bins or tarps if transporting loose stuff.
It is a Sophie's choice.
A. No sentry mode and assuming no extreme weather your battery makes it, but NO SENTRY MODE
B. Sentry mode and those benefits, but battery likely won't make it
Look at the cost of airport parking for that length of time, an Uber is probobly cheaper and you don't have...
Some of the plastics in the bed and wheel well area are a little sensitive to some of the mystery chemicals some car-washes have. I usually stick to PH neutral soaps only
I think everyone's interpretation of UFSD is the same.
FULL SELF DRIVING
Go pick my kids up from practice
Get in the truck on Christmas eve and wake up 7 hours later at the in-laws
My guess is they are phasing out lifetime FSD and are anticipating that Unsupervised, actual FSD will be out in about 8+ years so this is the time to start the clock on getting non subscription FSD off the road.
The issue is having to use rubbermaid totes that are not an efficient use of space in a 100k vehicle in the "VAULT"
If you need to put a 3d printer, table saw, or any decent size stuff back there you may end up going the route this guy did to get it waterproof.
