Two things.
Who shot the video?
And is this GigaTexas? (Since the handbuilt test mules we have seen have all been in California, could this be Fremont?)
The Cybertruck won't be eating any immediate sales from anyone for many years.
Tesla has to fill reservation holders orders first. Which means Joe Blow won't have the choice of buying a Cybertruck.....until maybe 2027.
Will Cybertruck sell everyone made over the next 3 years? You bet.
Will...
I guess the substantial TSLA stock I own has made me delusional. As well as the Tesla and Lightning I own.
In the meantime, today the US DOT thru a program designed to finance futuristic energy businesses is issuing a conditional $9.2 billion loan to Ford Motor Co. for the construction of...
How long do you think you will have to wait?
I placed a reservation for a Cybertruck November 2019, but I don't expect getting it before fall of 2025, based on Elon saying the ramp would go slowly at first.
In the meantime I am pleased with my current EVs, and my TSLA stock.
Yes, they CyberTruck will probably outsell the Ford Lightning (but definitely not the Ford F150) in 2025. BUT, that does not mean CyberTruck will steal sales away from the Ford Lightning.
Ford will sell as many as they build. And losing money on everyone doesn't matter now. Ask your...
Tesla FanBoys get all twisted up in their underwear if someone says anything that is not Tesla for World Domination.
Ford has made some great trucks for the past 60-70 years. They do know what THOSE customers want. That includes people that tow a large RV, large boat, go up into the...
Let me know when they are commercially viable for automotive use in the 100-120 kWh range.....
It will be a game changer if the industry can get it figured out....while be cost effective.
Understood, i.e. keeping a vehicle a long time. Many prefer to do that. I on the otherhand happen to change vehicles every 3-4 years. At least for the last 20 years.
As far as the promise of Solid State batteries, I am not confident a commercially viable version will happen anytime soon...
Good point (it will take a while to clear existing reservation holders).
FYI Rivian did not hold the initial price for everyone. They picked a random date out of the air, and said anyone who reserved later than this date (March 1st 2019) would be subject to a price increase on the Max Range R1T.
Solid State batteries for vehicles will be wonderfully, when and if that ever happens.
I would not wait for them before buying an EV. (I reserved a Cybertruck in Nov 2019, and can't wait to get mine, but bought a Ford Lightning in the meantime. Today is the best day to go EVing)
Look how...
If Tesla can sell a truck in 2024, for the same price as promised in 2019, that would surely be a miracle.
I can't wait until Tesla does release it's new, updated CyberTruck pricing for those that will take delivery in 2024 so we can put that question to bed. But I hope everyone recognizes...
$80,000 is plenty to spend on an EV.
IMO, just my opinion, long term there are not that many people that will spend $80,000 for a pickup. Sure, there are plenty that have, but once Ford, Cybertruck, GM and Ram have pickups available, how many $80,000 (and above) buyers are there? I can...
Wait a minute, you mean we shouldn't believe the commercials from GM and Ram, and the flood of emails I get from both about their Electric pickups that are coming soon? LOL
A tangential question is...why the heck does GM, Ram, etc spend millions and millions on advertising EVs....that they...
I don't see our Congress going back and changing this existing legislation to make it a "rebate". For those that qualify for the tax credit, just be happy with whatever you can get.
If Tesla can make 100,000 in 2024 (no guarantee...but hopefully) they will sell all of them no matter the price.
In 2025 if they build 250,000, we will find out at what price people will tap out. By then Ford, GM and Dodge will also have EV pickups for sale. I just hope I can get my...
