A lot of your comments point out exactly what is true for all companies:
Sales are easy, service is hard
Tesla is not immune to that.
As far as the charging moot, we are hoping Tesla installs tons and tons of more charging stations to keep ahead of the increase in demand. And Ford, and...
My guess, with no private emails from Elon to confirm like some of you apparently get, is that only employees with get Cybertrucks in 2023. And many people "in the know" are saying it will be just a small # of CTs delivered in 2023.
Than in 2024 Tesla wants to ramp (but it depends on...
Thanks!
At this point I am trying to keep my expectations low.....been disappointed before.
Besides, us commoners won't begin to take any deliveries until 1st quarter of 2024....and probably pretty slowly at first. I kinda expect to see my first real Cybertruck in person next year...
We have too much time on our hands to be super analyzing angles of door gaps! LOL
(Good catch by the way)
Cmon October....let's see a real live CyberTruck!!
Sounds like this week Tesla delayed the Semi possibly due to a shortage of batteries. I would guess that want to supply the CT over the Semi. Sigh, maybe next year or in 2025 battery production will have caught up to demand..
That doesn't mean those 4680s have the energy density or energy efficiency Tesla was targeting.
It also doesn't mean there is enough to ramp the CyberTruck as much as everyone hopes. 250,000 to 350,000 CyberTrucks is a LOT of structural packs. Joe's flyover. Were there 20,000 pallets...
Rivian has $11 billion in cash. But yes they are burning it pretty fast.
sales/deliveries in 2024 have to be a lot more or the cash crunch will be closing in
Scale is the biggest issue.
Rivian, if they were building and selling 250,000 units per year, would have a much lower per vehicle cost.
Plus, I heard "manufacturing is hard". Forgot who said that......:ROFLMAO:
TELO is currently targeting a price of $50K before incentives, with 10,000 contract-manufactured vehicles in 2026.
Yeah, okay. Maybe they can pick up some things from auction when Lucid closes up....
I am a Lightning owner too (CyberTruck future owner in waiting). I bought a Lariat, and think I paid way too much and wouldn't blame anyone for not consumating a sale once the final price is presented to them.
Their most recent marketing push seems to be for XLT, so I think they know the...
Ford apparently is experiencing that with the Ford Lightning.
Sure, they had a "long line" in 2021 and 2022 because they didn't deliver that many.
In fact, in 2022 Ford only delivered about 14,000 Lightnings. So of course you will have a number of buyers in the queue.
However, if Ford ramps...
Rivian really struggled to get going.
And they had this big factory but could only build about 5 trucks a week.
Hopefully Rivian can increase their output by the end of this year and they can get to profitability by the end of 2024. Hopefully.
We all feel fairly confident Tesla engineers have sorted out a lot of these Alpha version issues/challenges over the last year and a half since this report, but this quote from the report does point out it is not a slam dunk for Tesla to make a vehicle (pickup) that they never made before, and...
I am willing to guarantee you Tesla will not sell a $39,000 Single Motor or a $49,900 Dual Motor version.
I don't see how "First Edition" CyberTrucks won't be closer to $80,000, than $49,000.
I can't wait until Oct/Nov when Tesla should be annoucing the price of the INITIAL version.
We don't know what Tesla has negotiated with CATL, LG or Samsung.
We do know Tesla is trying to get as many battery sources lined up as possible.
We do know Tesla is not solely depending on their own battery production to supply every Tesla built. CATL, LG and Samsung make money building...
