  1. 123 kWh battery pack on Cybertruck (reported)

However you slice it, Ford Lightning has a 131 kWh battery in their 320 mile range pickup. If the Cybertruck only has a 123 kWh battery, 300-325 miles would be a reasonable estimate, yes? No? Maybe there is fairy dust that makes it a 400 mile range truck?
  2. 1 week....and still clueless on price

Tesla said it would be more than the pricing at reveal (inflation) and less than a million. Somewhere in that range.
  3. Sound system in Cybertruck is really AWESOME! -- says Tesla engineer

Sound-dampened windows/glass might not seem like a big thing, but driving in a super quiet car is such a nice pleasure.
  4. Cybertruck dimensions measured in real life -- at Santana Row Tesla store

So the Cybertruck is about 8" shorter than the Ford Lightning. How can you complain about that?
  5. Cybertruck dimensions measured in real life -- at Santana Row Tesla store

A Ford Lightning is 19'4" So the Cybertruck might be 2 inches shorter.
  6. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

Tesla can only build so many Cybertrucks in 2024 and 2025. And they are all pre-sold, so ICE pickup sales for Ford, GM and RAM won't be affected much. People can walk into a dealer today, and drive home a pickup tonight. Cybertruck, put in your reservation...and wait 3-4 years? And yes, it...
  7. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

Definitely keep the F-350. That is way more "truck" then the Cyberpunk EV Tesla will start slowly selling in January.
  8. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

A very large number of Cybertruck buyers will have never owned a pickup before, let alone care about ft-lbs of torque. They are buying an Electric vehicle that looks radically different than a Model Y or Model 3. The fact that it is a pickup is just secondary. The reality is the waiting list...
  9. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

True. The Cybertruck is not going to blow the Ford F150 out of the water, as fan boys have hyped. The CT will be a great ELECTRIC vehicle that happens to look funky and can be a pickup. Ford will still sell a lot of trucks. The Cybertruck will probably take a sliver each out of Ram, GMC and...
  10. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

My assumptions since putting in my Nov 2019 reservation have changed. (Note I do own a decent amount of TSLA stock, so I do want Tesla to do well) YES, Tesla "promised" a 500 mile range Cybertruck, with 14,000lbs of range, and for only $69,000. All to be delivered at the end of 2021. Okay...
  11. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

The CyberTruck is going to be a great vehicle - for what it is. However, it is not perfect for every use case. F250 and GM and Ram 2500 (and 3500s) and going to be better for a number of use cases. The Cybertruck should be compared to the F150. Need to tow? Have a diesel with a 35...
  12. Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass

The 11,000 lbs of towing capacity is what we kinda of expected. 2,500 lbs of payload is also in the area of what we expected.
  13. Minimum Range YOU REQUIRE to go through with Cybertruck purchase

I will say driving a TESLA will make it a lot better to tow/travel than a Ford LIghtning because of the charging network. (until next year when Tesla will open some for other brands to use). Another thing to consider, and we know nothing about, is the charging speed/curve of the CT. If it...
  14. Minimum Range YOU REQUIRE to go through with Cybertruck purchase

Use case. Is a Mazda Miata a good car? Sure, but you are not taking the kids and dogs to Home Depot in it. Is a Subaru Outback a good car? Sure, but not if you need to haul lumber. Is the Cybertruck going to be a great vehicle? Most likely, but I wouldn't buy one to tow an Airstream...
  15. Minimum Range YOU REQUIRE to go through with Cybertruck purchase

I reserved a CT in November 2019. The 500 mile tri-motor version. In the meantime, since I didn't want to put my boat in and out of the water using a tractor, I bought a Ford Lightning with 320 miles of range. (Turns out to be a great vehicle to have - the Frunk is amazing, the fit and...
  16. 172 KWH / 500 miles range based on forbidden video

Two possibly ways to have a 500+ mile version. A) have a massive, massive battery. Rivian's 400 mile version has a battery size of 149.0 kWh If you want to get to 500 miles, maybe you have to go up to 175/180 kWh? For comparison, the Model X has a 100 kWh battery. B) wait for a step change...
  17. (Poll) What state are you going to register your CT in?

Well if Texas instituted an annual personal property tax, then they can pay to force annual state inspections! ?
  18. (Poll) What state are you going to register your CT in?

Yes, and I live in Virginia. And yes they "hose" you ANNUALLY for that PPTax. And yes they also charge you Sales Tax when you first register the vehicle of 4.15%, so another $3250 on top. Plus they now charge a "tax" i.e. fuel charge for having an EV of $116 bucks a year. Jeesch.
