In my opinion, no.
If there are 1.5 million reservations, and let's say 1 million people cancel, that still leaves 500,000 orders to fill. Which will take all of 2024, all of 2025 and part of 2026.
There would be no reason to lower prices until 2026.
All that spin by Tesla fanboys is over optimistic.
Elon said it would be a slow ramp initially, especially in the 1st part of 2024, so I am going by what he says. Best guess 50-70,000 Cybertrucks delivered in 2024 is what I am expecting.
I was ready in 2021. I will be ready summer of...
True, there are a number of people that have a CT reservation. But there is a whole larger universe that hasn't seen a Cybertruck spy photo or YouTube video.
When they do see one, and if they are inspired to get one, they are years away from taking delivery. Elon would hope they get one...
I kinda of find these comparisons pointless.
You can go online today and order a Rivian R1T (or a Ford Lightning)
You can go online today and put your name if for a Cybertruck, and you will have to wait at least 3 years go get one.
So it doesn't matter how they compare. Joe can't get a CT...
Don't get excited.
Elon said the ramp would be slow ...and start slowly in early 2024.
The best guesses are that Tesla will build about 50,000 to 70,000 Cybertrucks in 2024, and 175,000 in 2025.
That is what I am using for my expectations. September 2025 is when I now hope to take...
If you are a Tesla can do no wrong person you will offer excuses for the 4680 challenges.
Fact is, the 4680 development just has not panned out. It didn't go as planned. It has taken longer, and battery efficiency has not yet hit targets.
Not to say they can't keep tweaking it over...
Prices are very close to where I predicted.
Those people that thought it would be cheaper, sorry, you let hope cloud logic.
$79,990 for a 340 mile range version is going to be the top seller, and that price and range compares favorably to a Lightning and a Rivian. Not sure why Tesla...
Aaah. Businesses need to sell their products, and require deposits.
Now that they are starting to deliver them to customers, $1000 is the minimum I would recommend to require from buyers. It is no longer lost opportunity. It is time to start the purchase process.
I think the reservation fee should be $1000.
Anyone putting down $100 dollars now, knows it won't be available for 4 years so many are not serious. They are just doing it like a lottery ticket.
Requiring a $1000 deposit, like Rivian does, is more sensible. It eliminates the non-serious.
In...
We will find out in less than a week.
Prepare to be disappointed to all those that held out for Tesla to offer a 500 mile range Cybertruck, or even a 400 mile range CT. Maybe they will have a 321 mile range variant?
It is both the cost, and the availability of 4680 cells.
Plus I am not sure how much room they will have under the truck to stuff in that many extra batteries.
I think Rivian had to confiscate space under the rear seat to fit their batteries in on their long range version. And under the...
Spot on.
And because the Cybertruck can use the Tesla charging network, as opposed to the rickety CCS network, 1000 miles is not necessary. I would encourage Tesla to keep building out the DCFC network, as they obviously have been. The more locations, the better for everyone. If I know...
I had a F150 with max towing package and 35 gallon tank. So despite the range being slashed due to towing, I could go quite aways before refueling. I never go that far, but with my previous F150 I could go almost 400 miles on a "tank of gas" towing (or 700 miles not towing anything).
I am...
When my reservation # is called, I am buying a Cybertruck, but I honestly reserved the Tri-motor back in Nov 2019 based mostly on the promised 500 miles of range.
Now 4 years later, that doesn't look likely. Even if I have to wait close to another 2 years to take delivery, I don't see 500...
