Depends. If you're a road warrior who likes to drive 4+ hours without a stop then yes. If you normally stop for a bathroom break and some food and drink then no it doesn't.
This was going on long before the Elon/Twitter debacle. Tesla has been threatening established industries from the beginning and has always been attacked with FUD. Unfortunately Elon has provided them with excessive ammunition in recent years which has only added to the attacks.
Let's hope not. Tesla would need to keep and maintain a fleet of vehicles in great enough numbers to handle peak demand, which means most of these vehicles would be sitting around unused most of the time. Plus there are already places that rent trucks out if you need one.
Amprius is shipping batteries to the military now with 350-500Wh/kg for use in drones and "pseudo satellites". I'm sure cost is high and cycle life is limited but it may not be as far away as you think.
