This was going on long before the Elon/Twitter debacle. Tesla has been threatening established industries from the beginning and has always been attacked with FUD. Unfortunately Elon has provided them with excessive ammunition in recent years which has only added to the attacks.

They agreed to a contract which stated they had to offer the vehicle to Tesla first.

I find thoughtful informed critique helpful. It's different than useless FUD.

Let's hope not. Tesla would need to keep and maintain a fleet of vehicles in great enough numbers to handle peak demand, which means most of these vehicles would be sitting around unused most of the time. Plus there are already places that rent trucks out if you need one.
