GEICO cancelling all Cybertruck insurance policies???? What????

"GEICO has coverage available nationwide for the Tesla Cybertruck," the insurance company said in a statement to Seeking Alpha. https://seekingalpha.com/news/4156696-geico-reportedly-cancels-coverage-tesla-cybertruck

Vertical load limit vs. tongue weight limit

A small trailer, ideally enclosed, narrow, and aerodynamic, shouldn't impact your range that much. Or a small flatbed trailer with the bike on it's side and an aerodynamic cover over it. Just having the bike mounted the way you do will disrupt airflow and reduce range to some degree.

Bat Mobile Cybertruck Crash 😔 Caught on Video

I once mounted a channel iron rear bumper for a Wrangler using stacked valve springs on the bolts. Never really tested it under impact but it would have provided some degree of flex.

Bat Mobile Cybertruck Crash 😔 Caught on Video

It's not even a question, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. I once had a 73 Tbird which had a similar accident and only had minor scratches on the bumper. Bumpers used to stick out further and be much more substantial.

Bat Mobile Cybertruck Crash 😔 Caught on Video

That was my thought upon seeing the damage. While true I can say that my older trucks, (mid 70's Chevys), with aftermarket off road bumpers would have easily come out of this type of accident with nothing more than scuffed paint on the bumper.

First Snowplow installed on a Cybertruck

Trucks have been pushing snow plows for decades without issue. There are good reasons why you almost never see a truck mounted snow blower.

First Snowplow installed on a Cybertruck

Presumably a truck expected to travel off road would have tow hooks built for vertical as well as side loading. If you get stuck you can't always count on being pulled straight ahead. That said, repeated plow use seems like a good way to introduce stress cracks into the casting unless you go...

    Ideal charge %?

As if the general public pay attention to the "geeks" on a forum. Using the battery in the proper and most practical way is "best", that allows a range of options for individual use cases. There are better and worse ways to use a pack, simple as that.

Cybertruck catches fire in Texas after crashing into fire hydrant (video)

There are new, effective methods to fight EV battery fires that use an under car water mist and a vehicle blanket. Every fire department should have these. Short version: More detailed version:

    Ideal charge %?

I clearly explained above why Tesla recommends that. It's not difficult to understand. LFP is robust and can handle charging to 100% because of it's structure and lower voltage. It also needs occasional full charging for the BMS to function properly. That doesn't change the fact that overall...

    Ideal charge %?

You can. Again, Tesla LFP is not magic, nor is it even made by Tesla. I know just as much about LFP as Will, I've been studying this stuff for almost 20 years now.

    Ideal charge %?

Tesla has no special BMS magic that changes the inherent characteristics of LFP chemistry. He was also taking data from a study, not making it up himself. Like it or not that "hack" is correct.

    Ideal charge %?

This isn't anything new, at least for those of us who are long time battery geeks. OEM's just want to keep things simple and know that if LFP isn't somewhat regularly charged to 100% the BMS loses track of capacity and it's difficult to balance cells. Also LFP has such a high cycle life anyway...

    Ideal charge %?

If you want to hear from an actual battery chemist, Dr Jeff Dahn, who works with Tesla, this is informative. TLDR, higher SOC, (voltage), causes more stress on the cell and shallow cycling is best for longevity. Most of the time I charge My Model 3 to about 75% and recharge around 45%, close...

Just paid for my CT with TSLA calls

Most people have no idea what the dry cathodes will mean so I expect that to have little effect. It's not as if dry cathode brings a huge improvement in energy density. Some improvement in cost but not ground breaking. Expect the RoboTaxi to be mostly smoke and mirrors with a vague timeline...
