Tesla Lightbar

for my new CT, I set up a service apt to fix a few minor things...

I sent a message to the service team, asking if they could install my V3 OEM lightbar I have on hand... they asked to confirm its OEM, I provided the part number 1937354-30-A, mentioned that I did not have the Left or Right side bracket, that I would need those parts.

they responded with "you will be looking at $452.86 before tax. this includes the labor and all the materials needed for the installation - excluding the lightbar itself."

Now I gotta order that lightbar!


**Has anyone done the lightbar harness connection for the V3? Ive seen the service bulletin

That’s not a bad price to me…parts & labor and if something goes sideways with the install, it’s their issue to fix.

My V3 lightbar arrives Monday. I have an existing service appointment that morning for cellular connection issues. I’m going to see if my SC would be willing to install and for how much. I’ll reschedule the appointment if needed.

Right? For $500 or so have Tesla do it and install it right

First don’t tell them you bought it from eBay,

If you have or make a service apt, ask them in the chat if they would install it with new brackets. Tell them you have the lightbar, V3 on hand already.
Ask for pricing. Should be the same

So my service center would NOT install the eBay purchased lightbar due to liability reasons but they sold me all the parts for install myself for $199 and then drilled the two holes and installed the Rivnuts for $249 which now allows me to install the lightbar and secure it with the new brackets. You might get lucky if your service team is new enough but policy is to not install any non-beast owners

The new procedure uses precut double sided tape.
You'll want something to keep the middle from flopping around.

That’s a fair compromise.

I‘ve got no problem drilling holes and installing the rivnuts myself, but there’s always that small chance I FUBAR it, haha!!

I messaged my SC to see if they will install. Waiting on a reply.

My SC says they’ll install as long as:

- It’s a Tesla Lightbar
- It’s brand new and not previously mounted
- And it’s the latest part number

Got it installed, FINALLY!
Service sold me the mounting parts ($200) and charged m3 ($250) to drill the holes and install the two Rivnuts. Then I mounted it all and success! Overall, all in, $1600, which isn’t bad considered a replacement and install from the Service I’ve seen quoted to $2500.
