I own the new Model Y which is an excellent vehicle in many ways. I’ve noticed the CT I recently checked out at the store is missing two small but very nice features that the new Model Y has:

adaptive matrix headlights and swiveling front fan setting in the climate controls.

Does anyone know if these features might be coming via software or if the hardware just isn’t there? I suspect it is the latter which would imply it will be added to the CT (and other Teslas) ‘soon’. If so, soon could be quite awhile based on what I’ve seen with other Tesla feature rollouts.

I'm assuming it's still under development or it may be delayed for regulatory approval. The CT does have matrix headlights, so it should be capable.

swiveling front fan setting in the climate controls
This should be easy to implement in any model (except the legacy S/X) since it's just air vectoring.

Search for adaptive headlights to see all the discussions on this. But, the short answer is that the CT headlights are too small to house the hardware needed.
I think the swiveling fan feature is there already. I can aim the fan output wherever I want it.
Unless you mean oscillating fan. I don’t think that’s possible.

from the outside, the headlights look to be roughly the same size between the two cars. Obviously the inside might be a different setup and I think it probably is. I was using the adaptive lights last night and they are a subtle but nice feature because the adaptive brights stay on much more frequently.

as for the fan, I did mean oscillating and it is again subtle but nice feature to have.

I suspect all the Teslas will have these features eventually but the new Y might be the only one for now. I suspect the other models will need hardware upgrades first but I don’t know for sure.

Regarding the headlights, the other threads are vague from what I’ve read, Wes/Lars don’t seem to agree on the matrix lights capability. Is it a hardware or software limitation? I guess time will tell.
