To be fair, I say all kinds of dopey things in my videos that I later regret, I dislike silence, so occasionally I'll say things that bypass my brain. Long-form videos whilst actually concentrating on doing something (other than talking) and figuring out camera angles, lighting etc can be challenging!

But for this, yeah, the longer it's applied, the less effective removing and reapplying will be, and the timing of that varies depending on temp and so on, but the broad recommendation is to check it all over the following day if you can, but if it takes a couple of days, no big deal.

@jameskk I'll check my labels for that back section! Occasionally one of the letters will come away when I'm weeding the Armor, so hopefully that's what happened, and I just stuck the wrong one back on. Now you need to finish the job with the main truck bed ;-)

I am considering it. I have a bed liner that I use now.

OK, well, my #1 concern with this is long term durability, and in partiicular, it's long term adhesion. Nobody wants to spend this kind of dough on something that peels up a week, month, or even a year later. I assume that actual abrasion resistance of the outer coating is durable...at least it looks like it is.

I read somewhere in another post of someone's corner of their Tesla version of tailgate protector is already peeling up. And we all know Tesla stuff ain't cheap either. I believe Tesla versions have a 3M tape backing (I never bought any of those).

I've not seen Tesla's tailgate protector, but their rear bumper protector was pretty bad for an OEM product. I've zero doubt about the durability or adhesion of Xpel Armor, it's been used for many years and is well known in the off-roading communities, it's an exceptional product. There's also clones, some US made, some not, but none of them come close. Xpel rate it as lasting up to 10 years in their FAQ.

Yeah, that's why this was the last kit I developed, since a lot of people already have liners; I was using a bed liner, but it was designed to be folded for shipping, so the ridge would catch when I was loading stuff in the bed.

So, maybe this has already been asked, but what are the chances of having this xpel armor as a wrap? I love it

Certainly possible, the only snag is that this stuff will never wrap around the edges, so it would be an edge-to-edge wrap, meaning you'd just see the stainless edge of the panel. When we were experimenting with regular PPF, the edge-to-edge wraps were actually ok on the lighter colors (less faff than wrapping the edges, especially with PPF), but on darker colors it was very obvious, and anything other than a dead straight line for the PPF would look very obvious.

@AO-Pete I recall you making custom pieces for a user up here. Would I be able to reach out to you about a potential request?

Sure @freyguy . Generally the custom work is only if it can be become a production item, as the design process is very time consuming. No laser-scanning here, just a lot of templating and testing with vinyl!
