I updated the file to make the dowels T shaped to hold better. This thing will be under a lot of pressure from the wind, I wouldn't want all the pressure on the glue only. Please also confirm you print with 3 walls for added strength. EDIT: 2 walls is fine.

Excellent I love it. Im thinking only low speed driving with them. Plus the slower I go the more time it allows for reactions lol.

Can’t find any antlers that are not fuzzy stuffed toy-style. I would like to buy hard, realistic (or stainless steel colored), but nothing available like that. Please post when you find something… or when you make and sell them.
haha agreed, but- in fairness, reindeer do get fuzzy antlers while growing, so I guess it depends on the age of reindeer you're going for.

Here is the result, but I will end up spray painting it white. Gluing is required due to the size. I include dowels to help align the parts, but they will not hold it together. Please print with 3 wall loops.

3MF file attached.

Thank you so much! I will be printing this today on my Bambu P1S. What kind of glue do you use? Will regular CA glue do the trick?

Hey @Pops and other 3D print designers, now that we have the antlers, we now need a polygonal red nose to put in the front. We could slide it onto the front edge of the frunk, and it will be completely secure once the frunk is closed.

What do you guys think?

I love 3D printing stuff, but I suck at the design part.

Good idea! This has to be my favorite thread of all time!

The kit that I started with has a nose and tail and they actually light up so a cool polygon or tail would be really fun too perhaps something that could slide in between the tailgate and back edge of the cover?

First version is printed and it works, but I am not 100% happy with how they turned out. I will update them and post it tonight.

Changes will be:
  • Larger
  • Angle them more upright
  • Make them girthier
  • Make them into interlocking pieces

Hey @Pops , I'm using flash forge for and it's not supported by orca and I can't seem to use this .3mf file, can you export in another format or point me in the right direction of a different approach? Thanks for any help.

Nevermind: I figured out how to export the individual STL's using orca slicer and now I can do what I need to do. Thank you, sir.

Yes, crazy glue/super glues work great for PLA, if you are using something else I recommend you google the best glue. The model comes with tight fitting dowels which will add some holding strength.

That said, going 80+ MPH might be more than the weakest point can take. Please report back if anyone has a break and I will redesign to improve it.

Personally I am adding some strong tape with threads over the U that goes on the window. It will add redundancy.
