Parts: Roof shade (free for Foundation series) x 1, 300LED 100ft fairy light from Amazon x 1.

Some notes: I don't want the light to be very bright so I found a light that can dim to 10%. The wires that normally come with the light is not long enough, still need to purchase longer wires to route through under the carpet.

The difficult part is to make the lights tape to the side of the mesh, since it's cloth it doesn't hold too good, maybe I should just tape them on the roof glass first.
Took me less than an hour to route the light and wires. I think it looks pretty good at day/night, at least my daughter likes it.

Neat idea. How does it look during the day while driving outside?
Thanks! It's not that much of a difference compare to night time surprisingly, lights are still observable, the only down side is the wires are more noticeable during day time.

I will take your idea and try the battery version since they are remote control. Great idea and thanks! Maybe the 3M clips to hold wire to glass?

The wire version can also be remote controlled, one huge advantage of wired is that you can plug into the center console outlet, and turn on the option 'turn on outlet with the truck' option, then everytime you turn on the truck, the lights will turn on automatically, and shut off when you leave the truck.

Yep better idea when you can hide the wires!

Great idea. I'd say the battery option is much better. Even the NEC and UL recommend to NEVER run a cord under carpet. traffic on the carper will wear the insulation off the wire and then start a fire. So hide it like the car wiring is hidden. Out of the way of any foot traffic.

Can you provide the link to the ones you have? I'd like to try it as well.
