I was lucky enough to take delivery of my Cyberbeast with all-season tires/Core wheels and the tactical gray interior about 2 weeks ago at the Service Center in Franklin, TN. This is my first Tesla, and first EV of any type, so I definitely noticed a learning curve with the new vehicle.

Delivery impressions:
Quality - Not bad. I did get to stop by a couple of days before I accepted the truck and look it over. The only thing I noticed was that the charge door wouldn't open. That was fixed before I accepted the truck. Fit and finish is a bit underwhelming for the price point but serviceable. They did a decent job of detailing it, and I did get the wheel covers.
Delivery experience - Definitely geared to the low-contact customer. Signed a couple of papers, and they told me which parking spot it was in. By contrast, when I picked up my TRX, the sales guy spent about 45 minutes going over all the features of the truck with me. But, they did have the tutorials pulled up on the front screen. It would have been nice to have the charging adapter and release explained; it took me a bit to figure out how to get the J1772 adapter out of the port. Didn't realize the port isn't just a simple plug-in.

Initial vehicle impressions:
Performance - WOW! Even coming from a TRX, which is absolutely no slouch from a propulsion standpoint, the power of the Cyberbeast is really impressive. Handling is also pretty good once you get used to the yoke and the steer-by-wire.
Driving - Compared to other trucks I've driven, the Beast is really quiet and smooth riding. Almost too quiet; it is easy to get up to a pretty high speed without any audible feedback like an ICE vehicle would provide. The steer-by-wire, four-wheel steering, yoke, and one-pedal driving make for a bit of a learning curve if this is your first EV, but the vehicle is well-behaved.
Interior - The gray looks pretty good, and the pseudo-Alcantara dash is nice. Seats are comfortable, and the rear is usable by adults, though if you want to seat three people in the rear, they can't be large. But, for the price point, it is a bit disappointing. The TRX has a noticeably spiffier interior for less money.
Stereo/screens - Truly impressive for a factory system! One of the truck's lesser promoted selling points. The rear screen with Tesla Theater is a nice feature, and the front screen is very visually impressive.
Charging - The home station isn't really needed if you have a 220V outlet available to use with the included mobile charger. Supercharging is a lot less of a hassle than I had expected; on my first road trip with it, the stops were brief and the vehicle recovered a good amount of charge. No CCS adapter included, though, and supposedly the one in the store doesn't fit.
Cargo - The bed is comparable to most other quad-cab trucks on the market. The addition of the frunk and the rear cubby provide a good amount of additional cargo space. The retractable cover is a nice way to keep your cargo secure as long as you can keep it clear of the mechanism.

I had one odd experience after a software update where I got a random Christmas tree of warning lights and it went into limp mode. I got out and got back in and it fixed itself. Still, a little disconcerting that your vehicle could get bricked by a bad update.

Overall, the Cyberbeast seems like a nice performance truck with some limited off-road abilities (more like an F150 with an FX4 package than a dedicated Baja beast like a Raptor or TRX). That said, for practical purposes, it is probably more useful than those trucks with more towing and a more refined on-road presence. For example, when tailgating, the tight turning radius provided by the four-wheel steering made getting into a tight spot in a crowded lot much easier than it would have been in the TRX. Looking forward to the release of the full self-driving to really see what I got with the Foundation Series package.

Took delivery last Wednesday of CB with tactical gray and All-Season tires in Sarasota. This was also my very first EV and the car is spectacular the delivery not so much. Walked in and basically the first words were ‘you have a check’, then after he returns in 10 minutes, ‘any questions’. Super disappointing experience and had to extract answers from the guy. Windshield inside and out was filthy and the only thing that kept me from going back to say something was that he made one blemish on the car worse when he tried to wipe it off half heartedly.

On the plus side, I’d seen a demo model in the Tampa showroom and the fit/finish was worrisome but other than a slight issue with one fender and one small metal panel that I’ll have them look at, it’s really pretty tight. I’m very happy the delivery was later in the year as it seems apparent the QC was tightened up from earlier in the year deliveries. No light bar yet and I’d submitted information for PowerShare and was assigned an installer but it’s been almost 2 weeks and haven’t heard from anyone yet. I’m taking it to get the front window ceramic tinted and probably put a darker sunshade on while I’m at it. The window tint folks said they could put a clear windshield cover on in to screen out UV/IR but I’d read on the Tesla website that the windows already have UV blocking, so I’ll pass on that. Don’t think I’ll do the A-pillar windows as I don’t want to impair visibility more…though I’d have to say it’s really not all that bad as I’ve heard.

Not sure what the point of the rear view mirror is…and agree the touchscreen should/could have a bigger picture. Two big gripes I have is no 360 view of the car and also no green/yellow/red warning grids when you’re parking/pulling up to something. Huge whiff in my opinion…when my old Hyundai Tucson has all this and your Tesla that was 3X more doesn’t, it’s an issue. Hoping the software updates will address this though at some point.

I’m planning to take a 1200 mile trip up north next month. My wife is super nervous about charging, etc…any advice from those here who have done this with CT, or have EV experience for trips. Any advice is much appreciated!

Long trip with any Tesla will not be a problem. Relax and enjoy the experience. I've owned 4 Teslas. The range anxiety is exaggerated. I'm old and need to use the restroom every 2-3 hours. Plug in, make sure it's charging. Go pee and come back. Most of the time it is almost ready to go to the next charging station. Enjoy and have fun. I'll never go back.

Congrats on the truck!

As a first-time EV owner, it is normal to be a little anxious about charging. You will soon develop a mindset of what type of charging schedule works best for you (every night, every other night, etc).

I would suggest taking a small trip to your nearest supercharger to get some experience. Once you plug in and see that it all works pretty seamlessly, you will see how easy it is to take longer trips.

Best of luck and happy travels!

I am also a beast owner in Sarasota, welcome to the club! Got mine end of April.

I actually had a very similar delivery experience as you but picked mine up in St Pete. I think it’s Teslas way of trying to be hassle free compared to a traditional dealership where you are there half a day signing paperwork to buy a car. I walked in, walked around /inspected the vehicle, they took my check, signed an ipad, they linked my phone and said your good to go. It was like 10 mins max and it was my first ev and had no idea how to drive the thing. I figured it out but ya was a little surreal how quick it was and how there was zero interaction with the customer to show them how the truck works.

You just need to plan your supercharging around food breaks or shopping etc. I just super charged mine on a trip this weekend, was at about 20% and got to around 80% in an hour. It was an older super charger in a strip mall. Literally plugged it in, went to a sushi restaurant and when I finished eating truck was at 80% and then drove home. Essentially just plan for about 1 hour charging sessions which will get you an additional 2.5 hours/ 200 miles of highway driving time. If it’s a newer faster super charger you might be able to get the same results in 45 mins.

Yes, might have been a little harsh on the dealership but with most folks it's their first EV and it's a good thing I'd test driven one in Tampa at the mall, otherwise I'd have likely accidentally drove it into a wall in their showroom. The sales guy in Tampa was awesome, though, in just one trip around the mall (the length of the test drive), he conveyed 10X more info than on pickup. I guess I'd rather have the option to bypass the in-service rather than no in-service at all.

Thanks for the info on the recharging. Wondering what the chargers are at the Buc-EE's...I suspect they are the newer ones. I might try a short trip and see how it goes before I venture out.

On the 360 view parking, you should end up getting the software the rest of us now have, which is the vision park assist. It’s like 360 view I’ve seen in other cars. You’ll also find the parking cameras that pop up really help. Super clear view of both sides and rear.

On the trip, I would just suggest trying the Tesla trip planner as a start… https://www.tesla.com/trips

CT is not in there yet so select any vehicle with less range than the CT to be a bit conservative.

I would do that, and then independently google each supercharger it recommends to get a sense for the area / setup.

Good luck and enjoy!

Congratulations! I had my CB delivered to Duluth GA 3 weeks ago and drove it to Connecticut. Bring your EasyPass and toll money! Stopped 6 times, 1100 miles , I learned a lot about V2and V3 charging stations! The thinner the wires the faster the charge! Charge to 80% and go to the next supercharger! They are everywhere! Pre condition before you charge, it makes a difference! Cost was less than $75 to drive to Connecticut! Enjoy Beast mode on I-95, it will change your life! My thoughts on FSA , if I wanted my mom to drive me to school every day I would have never purchased the most amazing vehicle money can by! Put it in Beast mode and learn what you can handle!

For those who have taken 1000+ mile trips…would you start the trip with 100% charge and charge to 100% on stops, or just keep it at 80% to start and all charges? Just curious. I’m obviously totally new to this world.

What made you choose Core Wheels / AS tires (vs Cyber Wheels / AT Tires)? Are you happy with the form factor / appearance of the Core wheels?

I have a CB on order (VIN assigned) and my original choice was Cyber Wheels / AT Tires but Tesla switched my order to Core Wheels / AS Tires for quicker delivery and are now saying Cyber Wheels are discontinued. I've asked them to double check and hoping I can still get the Cyber Wheels / AT Tires even if I have to wait a little longer.

But in case Core is the only option going forward, interested in your thoughts on how whether the smaller Core wheels/Aero covers take away from the rugged look of the truck.

Unfortunately it does Murica. When I picked mine up, there was a core wheel one next to mine. Doesn't look as cool. My wife who doesn't care about cars, vehicles, etc. noticed. It looks off.
Sorry

Go down to 10% and then never above 80%
