2 weeks in - Cyberbeast impressions

Reports circulated that some Cyberbeasts had a front drive unit with the wrong (AWD) inverter, which limited the top speed to 114 mph.
I was able to verify (legally) that mine has the correct inverter. Yes it's stable and smooth at 120 mph.

Do you know if the problem is fixed for newer VINs? Can you let us know how to verify this?

Personally, I like the look of the Core wheels/tires and the Pirellis seem to provide good on-road handling. I like the look of the Cyber wheels/tires too, but I prefer the all-seasons to the regular all-terrains for snowy roads, and you probably get a bit more range and longer tire life with the all-seasons.

What made you choose Core Wheels / AS tires (vs Cyber Wheels / AT Tires)? Are you happy with the form factor / appearance of the Core wheels?

I have a CB on order (VIN assigned) and my original choice was Cyber Wheels / AT Tires but Tesla switched my order to Core Wheels / AS Tires for quicker delivery and are now saying Cyber Wheels are discontinued. I've asked them to double check and hoping I can still get the Cyber Wheels / AT Tires even if I have to wait a little longer.

But in case Core is the only option going forward, interested in your thoughts on how whether the smaller Core wheels/Aero covers take away from the rugged look of the truck.

Unfortunately it does Murica. When I picked mine up, there was a core wheel one next to mine. Doesn't look as cool. My wife who doesn't care about cars, vehicles, etc. noticed. It looks off.

Thanks, and agreed - the Cyber Wheels do look cooler to me as well. I decided to pass on the Core Wheels; hoping Cyber Wheels are still an option even if not immediately available.

I did give it some thought but,

- The CT will be my third vehicle and I already have a set of snow tires on dedicated wheels for one of our vehicles that's taking up precious space in the garage
- The snow tires would fix this problem for ~5 months of the year (i.e., I wouldn't want to be driving on snow tires year round)
- They're out of stock on the Tesla website (not sure if that's a temporary thing sign of that style being discontinued...)

I'm hopeful that the Cyber Wheels / AT tires haven't been discontinued.

Appreciate the suggestion though.

For those who have taken 1000+ mile trips…would you start the trip with 100% charge and charge to 100% on stops, or just keep it at 80% to start and all charges? Just curious. I’m obviously totally new to this world.

Only charge to 100% when time isn’t important, like the last charge of the night and you’re going to take a nap in it. Or I’ll put it on 100% and go eat dinner and just unhook with whatever it gave me in that time (assuming you have enough to continue the trip). I usually don’t charge above 80% during the normal charging stops unless required for the next leg. You waste a lot of time in a long trip if you’re trying to charge above 80.
