Looks like Ashok Elluswamy’s estimates are more realistic compared to Mr. Musk. He said first step would be parking assistance this week and we would have parking assistance before FSD.

Of course his estimates are more realistic than Musk's, he's the director of Autonomous software development!

Musk's estimates are designed to push the software team to make great things happen sooner! We've known this for many years.

Well, I am glad that someone from Tesla gave an estimated date and they stuck to it. So kudos there. That also makes me hopeful to see FSD in September as said by Ashok.

I am leaving on Friday on a short 220 mile camping trip. Don't need the parking but FSD would be cool. Ha, made myself crack up with that one.

I thought it locked me out of updates for 24 hours, but in the past, I still received a random over the air update notification so I don't believe it stops checking.

I just think we get one manual try a day.

If you go to the software tab, it will check for a new update. You will see "checking for update". Be warned, however, that once you do this, it won't check for another 24 hours. If you go check and you haven't been chosen yet, you are out of luck until tomorrow.

Updates are pushed not pulled. By checking the screen it just checks if you are in the the que. Some times the que can be long and checking it will start the download if you are in the que. In seven years of Tesla ownership I think I only ever had one update trigger by checking the software screen.
