Dashcam Clip Encryption(new in 2026.20): Clips saved to USB are encrypted for privacy; only your vehicle can decrypt them (toggle in Controls > Safety).

So... If your vehicle is unresponsive after an accident, you cannot access the video for litigation?

At first I thought "Finally!" since we are nearing a point with AI where video will not be accepted as evidence in court unless encrypted by the recording device. However, does not solve the problem if you can only view in the device which may no longer be accessible.

From my Model Y release notes it says you can tap the padlock icon in the Dashcam app or visit dashcam.tesla.com.

I also see this jerkiness on starting out from a stop. It's a bit annoying.
I feel lately it has been trying to read the other traffic lights while at a stop to creep up. Reducing lag when light turns green. Kind of strange.

Can either of those read a USB drive?
Yes, with help. I forget what the cable is for attaching a USB drive to a phone is, and for the web site the usb drive can be plugged into your computer so a file can be sent.

My assumption is that Tesla will have the keys attached to your account.

Jealous he doesn't have a CT with a lot less features?

I didn't think about it but it is weird to mention the price. Like I've never heard that in any other vehicle conversation aside from talking about prices. For those who got the rebate I never heard them say 72.5k truck.

I'm still on the factory 2026.14.200 firmware and haven't received any updates. The 1-month free FSD came and went (92% FSD), and I thought I'd test out the TACC. It hasn't been too bad, and there are definitely situations where I feel FSD is too conversative (stopping twice for a stop sign & cross walk, seriously?). I'll probably stick with TACC until an update is available.
