Just finished up my V2 design of a 3D printable Cybertruck Food Tray that clips in and stays put over the phone charging area. There's versions with removable charging covers so you can charge with it installed. Make it it a ton easier to eat and drive. It also has 2 removable bag hooks that hang below as sometimes I like to keep my takeout food from moving around.

Free to print:
https://makerworld.com/en/models/1783579-cybertruck-food-tray

I'd also be willing to ship one to anyone who doesn't have a 3D printer, $20 plus shipping (about $7-10). Paypal Goods and Services is fine so you have some protection. I've already shipped one out that way. Just note that 3D printed items will have slight imperfections. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I also have ideas of 3D designing a phone/Nintendo Switch holder for the seat back of the front seat since none of the current mounts for sale work with the fixed headrest seats. Leaning towards a custom 3D print phone holder on a paracord rope which goes around the seat. Here's that holder https://makerworld.com/en/models/1807833-universal-back-seat-phone-switch-and-tablet-mount

I use a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS and a BIQU Glacier build plate

But all the Bambu Lab printers are fantastic even down to the A1 which I think is by far the best value.

They are known as the only printer brand that works solidly out of the box without having to screw around or modify it.

Just note the A1 mini doesn't have a bed big enough to print this. Also it must be printed in PETG, ASA or ABS. PLA can deform in a hot parked car. PETG is the easiest and is what I use for nearly everything.

It’s amazing. I love it. I would be so into a Nintendo switch holder for back there!

Nice!

I printed v1 and the superglue made it unsightly when the superglue bled through the seam. I would make another version for a tad bit shorter for those of us who have the center console fridge, but it’s easy enough to remove and snap in.

Ooh. I have that fridge too. Didn’t realize it stuck that far forward. Slightly shorter would be handy.
@TwiztOG43 could you measure how much shorter it would have to be to clear the lip of the door as it swings up?

Awesome thanks, im gonna do some research. I know this post isn't about 3d printers, but im really interested in getting started with it and learning how to do stuff like this. How difficult is it to operate, design your own things in the software, print it, etc.. just to use overall - for someone who's a complete newbie and not super techy...

I was wondering about this exact scenario. Thank you @TwiztOG43 for updating with this and including pictures.

Definitely let me know how much shorter you'd like it , I can easily adjust it and put it up as another print profile.

Also, do you find the V1's edge height to be too short? I was worried about hard braking where a burger could probably make its way over the edge, so my current design has a 26mm interior edge height which hopefully would be enough to keep most things from falling off and I don't find it annoyingly high, but I'd be interested in feedback.

The glue was definitely unsightly on my V1 too and getting it all printed in 1 piece was my way to fix that. The V2 also fixes that scratchy sound of the print layer ridges catching when removing it since I was able to print the latches in the other orientation. The latches should also be stronger now too. I really like my V2 a lot better overall.

Definitely send me the length you'd like and I'll get it up to print. Only takes me a few minutes to adjust it.

Generally about 95% of 3D printer owners likely just print out the tens of millions of objects already out there on sites like https://makerworld.com/, https://www.printables.com/ and https://www.thingiverse.com/ and never design anything.

The hardest part of it all was just the 30 minutes of final assembly of the printer out of the box which came with really good instructions. The Bambu Lab software and mobile app are really well designed and easy to use. I can print out stuff straight from my phone, even when I'm not at home.

I'd say it if you can build IKEA furniture and set up an inkjet printer on your computer you should easily be able to do this. At this point I'd only recommend a Bambu Lab printer. With a lot of other brands you'll be spending more time trying to get your printer to print well than actually printing good objects.

I'm currently using the free https://www.tinkercad.com/ for creating my designs and have only really been designing for 4 weeks and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on most simple to medium complexity objects. Once you get the hang of grouping solid and hole (cutout) objects together, it all makes a lot of sense. There's also the printer limitations that you'll also need to understand when designing objects like: bed size limits, diagonal overhang limitations (45deg max generally), length and sag of horizontal overhangs, supports, material strength, strength based on printing orientation and infill types and amounts (tradeoff of material use vs strength). I do have an engineering (computer science, electrical, mechanical) background though which does help.

Here's a doc of useful links and information I keep for myself https://docs.google.com/document/d/1u9aezmi6m7wwxcBdzP3T0Ehp181tJnMJHcsUumdGSlA/edit?tab=t.0

I use the anycubic kobra max 2 or kobra max 3 combo.

For some reason it won't let me slice your .stl files with ASA filament.

It Looks to be about 3/4in shorter. Is the V2 with thicker walls? V1 definitely could support things, but it felt a bit wobbly when the truck is in motion, as well as the edges being a bit short. Maybe thicker walls for support and a more premium feel.

What's the error? STLs should be pretty independent of filament. Your build plate is definately big enough.

I downloaded the STLs and they loaded in my Bambu Lab slicer.

The V2 is a lot stiffer due to the much taller built in edge. There's almost no bending flex to mine at all while my V1 could flex a decent amount.

Just made a 30mm (1.18 in) shorter one (230mm x 200mm) https://makerworld.com/en/models/1783579-tesla-cybertruck-food-tray#profileId-1924004

Let me know how it works

Trying to do it from my phone and it seems to be a platform issue as it won't slice online. I will try from the laptop later and report back.
