My family currently has a Cybertruck and a 22' Model Y with a pop up 3rd row. There are 5 of us total but anytime other family comes to town or a friend needs a ride, we are using the Y. However, the children continue to grow and the Y is increasingly a poor, uncomfortable option for travel. Anyone have any good recommendations on a 6 or 7 seater EV? If only we could have had a jump seat in the Cybertruck...

Get a model X, soon. There are also some decent Cadillacs that have 6-7 seat models. We are in the same position, want a good 6-7 seater, and the MY and MY L are just too small.

Might just have to come back to reality and get that 13 passenger model!!!

We had a model X and traded it in to get the cyber truck. I have some long-term concerns about those doors of the model X. Not to mention they’re not making them anymore. We had the six seater and while it was nice for transporting people, there was very little storage space. There was also the issue of the third row in the model X not being climate controlled.
I was looking at the new Cadillacs, and while the Escalade looks intriguing, if I could stomach the price, I don’t know if it has any compatibility with any of the Tesla power wall or charging home infrastructure.

the lucid gravity was on my list of considerations when I was doing my final due diligence before ordering the CT. pros: better range, more seats, nacs plug standard. cons: price, didnt trust that lucid would still be around in x years.

im glad I bought the ct and wouldnt go back, but I dont need the seats (and ive yet to drive a gravity.)

I'm with you. I'm a family of 6 and we also have times when we have another passenger. I also have the 3rd row Y.

Kids are 16, 14, 10, 9. The 3rd row is not good for airflow and you also have the hatch window directly above that lets the sun beat down on passengers. We've put the 2nd row middle seat down which helps with airflow but doesn't fix it 100%. We also tried using the sunshades in addition to the window tint, still not good.

I looked at the X. Has more room than the Y which I expected, but I was honestly a little disappointed with the low head room when I sat back there.

I ended up buying the EV9 in September for the sole reason of space. It also has vents in the 3rd row with plenty of headroom and leg room. I got a great deal on it. After all of the discounts and rebates I paid $46,500 for a $66,455 vehicle. I really like it so far. Looking forward to using it with the family in the summer without the complaints about the 3rd row. It's obviously not a Tesla, but it filled a need for me that Tesla couldn't. I still love my Teslas which is why I ultimately couldn't trade in the Y. Same reason I still followed through and bought the Cybertruck, even though it was no longer a six seater... So now I currently have a Cybertruck, Y, EV9, and Honda Insight. :)

How would you rate the “driver assistance” features compared to Tesla?

I don't use driver assistance much in Tesla or others but I did try the EV9 driver assistance and its similar to Tesla's autopilot. Maybe a little bit better since I can put on my blinker and it changes lanes. I guess it's more like Tesla's enhanced autopilot??? This came standard, no extra charge.

Overall as far as tech, Tesla is still the leader IMO. This filled a need for me though, and is very good (not exceptional) with everything else. I'm happy.

Same here. I had a loaner X 7-seater recently. It's a nice car, but not worth the change for us. If we're going through the hassle of switching vehicles just to be more passenger friendly, it'll probably be something bigger.

I would love for Tesla to make a passenger vehicle on the Cybertruck platform. Even if it looks like a normal SUV. Give me steer-by-wire, four-wheel steering and more space.

If youve got money, check out the Lucid Gravity.
