Per my own math at the time of the order, IIRC, the gateway was $1800 and the universal wall connector was $700. That's $2500. Minus $700 means we were shorted $1800, per order. You're out $3600 in my book.

Arbitration filing costs the consumer $225. If the business goes forward, costs start at about $2275 ($375 filing, $1400 case management, $500 hearing) in fees. It would be incredibly dumb for Tesla to let this get to arbitration, especially when it's pretty cut and dry in favor of the consumer.
That's for AWD. For the Beast add in another up-to $4000 that Tesla includes for installation.

Checks. I'm an AWD buyer. If I were a beast buyer I'd be even more unhappy.

I may be in your corner. Tesla said they haven't contacted me about the Powershare survey because their power group said they don't have an installer in my zip code. I already told them this is unacceptable if they don't install it because its not my problem. I own my house, so its doable and I check all the boxes, so their lack of training someone locally is not on me. Its on them.

It's probably too early me for me to hop on until I have a VIN. Tesla's web site hints that if its because they can't do it, then I can wait. But its vague at best. I hope I will get a VIN in the next 60 days based on where Beast deliveries are in CO and the RN numbers. So I will let you know once that time comes.

BTW, I believe you have a valid argument (as do others in this situation) because it should fall under some form of implied value. Tesla provides it as a "premium feature" and each feature should have a value. I think someone posted an electrician detailed breakdown of a Powershare install and I thought it had the gateway listed as a $1200 line item. I think you are 100% dead on.

That said, this may be an interesting mine field to cross. Due to COVID, Ford started removing the message seats in the Platinum series due to shortages. They only gave a $350 refund for that when its true value to the consumer is about $2700 (that's what it would cost me to install it through them). I don't believe there were any lawsuits on that so I am not sure if that was tested in court. But the message seats were part of the "premium feature" similar to what Tesla is doing.

Thanks for your support! I showed the math earlier. Tesla stands to lose more just by *going* to arbitration. They could just pay me the value and be done.

If you ordered and then took delivery of a FS Cybertruck with the understanding that part of the $20k upsell was powershare hardware and have since been offered a $700 one time use credit in the store, and feel like that was beyond slimy for Tesla to do.... Please DM me. I'm looking at putting together a list of owners that are unhappy with this arbitrary decision with no recourse. In theory, a certified letter demanding either the hardware or an enduring credit of equal value to the consumer (per my math at time of ordering it was about $2500 worth of hardware), maybe they would consider it. So far I have not gotten even a courtesy email reply saying they received my complaint. Yes, I'm using the email address from the agreement I signed.
Funny we ended up with a 2500 credit, maybe this guy made a move. I want to just have the buy mine back and they won't. I don't want to waste with selling it and they keep doing more damage each time I take it in for repair .

Make any progress on this? I have a beast which includes PowerShare equipment and install and I can't even get anyone to talk to. I spoke with the manager at the dealership and they said they can't either because the entire team got fired.

It's most certainly time to contact an attorney.

I never got enough interest on here to make it worth the effort. I filed for arbitration 2 weeks ago and haven't followed up yet.

I just sent them the email to [email protected] told them they have 30 days to find a resolution or give me a partial refund or I intend to hire counsel and arbitrate and will expect counsel fees in arbitration.

The agreement you signed likely said 60 days from initial notification to filing for arbitration. At least if it was the same as mine.

well I would count the 43 people I have talked to over the last two months as initial notification. So technically they got 90 days.
