So... you don't have your Beast yet? ;)
There was a period where it felt like it would never arrive. Then, it was not supposed to be here until Oct/Nov of 2025. However, I received the message on Sunday, August 25th that it was ready and picked it up on Friday, August 30th.

I go the Foundation bc I didn't want to wait for the Beast. It's still unclear to me if regular Foundations series will get the lightbar too.
Foundation series is simply the early release of the AWD (Dual Motor) and Beast (Tri-Motor). To encourage early adoption, they included a number of accessories with each. For the Beast, it also included the Offroad Light Bar (OLB). However, that have been slow to arrive and they have had at least two changes to the installation adhesive for mounting it to the windshield. There is a V3 (which I hope this one is on my appointment).

So, the Dual Motor AWD was never slated to receive the OLB and there has been no word as to whether the Tesla OLB will be available for sale for other CTs or not. There are a number of after-market OLBs available today.

One day shoet of 11 months of picking up Lost Highway, I received the email to schedule my lightbar install.

I know there was a post about installs being halted until August to re-engineer the mount. I hope this is the new mounting method.

Scheduled for the 13th of August.
Please post here once you know for certain which install method. Mine was originally scheduled for beginning of June then they postponed it a month for the new adhesive, then they postponed it another month for the new adhesive, and now I just postponed it two weeks for my own reasons so I'm scheduled to have it installed on August 19th. REALLY hoping for the new method where it's not glued down or I might postpone yet again.

The install is pretty strict with how long to wait for each step, the environmental conditions, etc, I’m seeing some people that stated the install only took a couple hours, while my install took 3.5 days because they don’t want to “rush the install, especially the light bar”. Seems like a lot of failures might be due to cutting corners.

I have the Foundation Series CyberBeast. Just got my email for the light bar install this week. I made contact with them to see if it is with adhesive. He said there is nothing but the adhesive install and nothing planned otherwise. I made the appointment for end of August but nervous to get adhesive due to all the bad stories I am hearing.

I was joking that you said you picked up your beast in August of 2025 when you probably meant August of 2024.

My Beast got its lightbar early this spring and I have zero issues. I live rurally and use if often when camping and off-roading. The ditch lights are amazing and because it is all integrated into the Tesla control panel it is easily accessible. It is one of the best features on my Beast....

That is the only reason I am excited about it! We do a lot of dispersed camping and this would have been welcomed on several of those trips. Just wish it would be here before the next one (which is right before the install).

Be careful, mine fell off after a couple of months, while on a highway trip. Mine had a thick (1/2 ") bead that came apart in the bead itself with glue still on the window and light bar base.

That sucks, seems like a bad install vibe had mine since January. No issues. Plenty of highway speeds as well. Do you live somewhere cold?

Same. I can imagine there were quite a few engineers at Tesla beating down the doors of management to tell them that gluing a lightbar is a terrible decision. Should have never in a million years been approved in the first place.
Well look at how they use glue for the frame and frame repairs. I can see how they went down this road but they should have did a little better research on adhering the dissimilar materials of glass and aluminum.

Was just reading another thread. Wes (Tesla) was at the X Takeover and he was asked about the light bar. The pause in deliveries was to ensure everyone was trained and understood the proper procedure to install the light bar. There is no new mounting system (still adhered to the windshield). The issue was that many were being improperly installed. It should take more than 24 hours before we get our trucks back. Those who get them back same day or next morning, probably had most of the issues with others simply being a poor install.

I will let everyone know how this goes. However, they sent me to the collision center across the street first as I asked to repair/replace both rocker fairings in front of the back wheels as they no longer snap back in place after hitting a puddle. They cannot tell me if they will take care of everything or not (rocker fairing replacement, cantrail replacement - system automatically added this to the ticket, tire rotation, and the light bar install). But, they did say I may have to schedule a different appointment for those things they cannot take care of (sigh).

Modern adhesives are incredibly strong depending on application parameters. Even though some of the service center techs have been sloppy on their installs (which certainly contribute the main reason they have been failing), I just really don't think it's the best solution they could have come up with.

I mean... come on guys, there are two rooftop hard mounts inches away lol!

Yeah but many of us are using the mounts for roof racks and bed racks. The aesthetics of the glass mount is clean but definitely leaves alot to be desired when it comes to maintenance or the flexibility to easily remove it .
