Still waiting to be installed. The bottom has been covered in VHB with adhesion promoter and the bar just got back from being wrapped in the same navy blue as my cantrails. All the suction cup holders have arrived from china.
I’m going for overkill with the even pressure so I got two six packs of them. 6 from the glass roof side and 6 from the windshield side is the plan. Then park for 48hrs outside in Arizona.
installation upcoming.

I was just going to say VHB tape would probably be better than the adhesive Tesla used.

My local service center said they're waiting for a new primer to attach the bars with?
Has anyone else heard this?

The V2 install went with a two-part adhesive to improve adhesion.

According to Wes at the X Takeover event last week, this will continue to be the install method. The pause from June was to retrain everyone on how to install the lightbar correctly - apparently, many service centers were not installing these correctly, leading to the issues.

According to West at the X Takeover last week, the install method is not changing. The pause on installations was to retrain everyone on how to install them properly. It looks like that was a problem up to then.

For my install, they removed the cantrail install and the light bar install as they moved me to the collision center to fix the rocker fairings. Will be later this month for my OLB install.

Do you think SC will let me pick up the light bar without them installing it?

Haven’t done it yet. Car is going in for cantrail adjustment tomorrow and I worried it might get in the way. I did wrap the bar the same dark blue as my cantrails as I mentioned and that was a little work.
I wanted it to look a little different because I’m not trying to pose as a beast. I just really like the low profile design and the software interface.

OK....FINALLY have an install date. I submitted the ticket - they automatically added the cant rail replacement and I added a tire rotation and rocker fairing replacements (broke both of them). That was a mistake - the rocker fairing replacement move it to the collision center and bumped my light bar install - I had ot reschedule it.

So, the 15th of September is the new install...

I dropped off CyberBeast for lightbar install on August 20, 2025 at 8:30 am. Wasn't completed until August 22nd at 4:00 pm. Rep made it seem that it was service center specific. I live in Brevard County in FL.

YouTube videos didn't match what I had to do to connect lightbar. In fact I used the YouTube videos to try to connect my lightbar. I was getting frustrated lightbar still wouldn't work. Then I actually pulled out the four page instructions service center gave me and success.

Here are the steps YouTube video's didn't mention:
  1. I did NOT disconnect MV power as discussed in instructions below
  2. ONLY had to connect jumper harness to off road lightbar harness under right side B-pillar (did NOT have to connect any wires on roof as some other CT owners had to)
  3. Get in and make sure all doors shut
  4. Press & hold brake pedal, then shift into Drive (keep pressed until further notice)
  5. On touchscreen, touch Controls > Outlets & Mods > Power Feed (place ON)
  6. Shift into Park, and release brake pedal
  7. Exit vehicle and allow lightbar configuration update to complete (Doesn't mention how long. I waited a few minutes before reentering)

Boom, done!

I just got mine two weeks ago. The installation was even simpler. I just connected the harness in the B-pillar, closed the Bi-pillar up, reached in from the passenger side to the screen and enabled that power feed, closed the passenger door, walked around to driver side, got in and it was there and working.

Be careful, mine fell off after a couple of months, while on a highway trip. Mine had a thick (1/2 ") bead that came apart in the bead itself with glue still on the window and light bar base.

The installation looks like a hack job. Very sloppily done by someone who has little skill in this area.

The adhesive I see in the picture could be automotive urethane. I do believe an OEM quality windshield urethane adhesive correctly done could possibly work in this situation. Can’t overemphasize the word correctly. Historically, most OEM windshields have been successfully installed using Betaseal U-400HV or more currently, U-400HMNC. They bond very well to glass and metal surfaces. Both types require a primer on all bonding surfaces. There are some caveats, as not all substrates are compatible with urethane. Some plastics and rubber components do not bond well long term with urethane. Stick for a few months and then boom, the part detaches. Your installation could be the result of a compatibility issue or a poor install. Different expansion coefficients between the substrates can also be a problem. Also, direct exposure to ultraviolet light will break down urethane.

A possible alternative would be a 3M automotive double sided tape. As with the urethane, it needs to be done correctly. For success you would need to use a 3M adhesion promoter on clean and dry surfaces and preferably warm surfaces. If you use tape, I would recommend a dry install. Get it where you want it and then install some alignment markers to make it easier to install it where you want it.

I went in specifically for the light install after receiving the "your lightbar is here" email. I added the CANT rails and tonneau slat and tire rotation. Yes, I rotated my tires at 22,000 miles for the first and only time.
Service center cancelled the light bar install due to lack of parts (no primer in stock). They did the CANT rail replacement. They aligned them really well and there's no visible weld bump.

Anyway, they asked me to reschedule the tonneau slat and lightbar for mid to late September. They have some personnel leave and still need the primer.

So, I'm still in the hurry up and wait line.

It finally happened!

Dropped it off Monday for the lightbat amd cantrails and pucked it up Tuesday afternoon.

Install looks good. It is more sleek than I expected. And, the best part, all I had to do was take off the black tape as they already made all the connections!

It is not the brightest, but is is more than adequate for the forest roads we drive down when camping.
