About FSD riding lane lines, and doing dumb stuff in general.

This is just a theory, but I think FSD actually needs hands on real time driver feedback in the CT and though you don't HAVE to, it may help accelerate improvement of the quality of the driving (such as staying centered in the lane).
It is not supposed to be hands off as of now anyway, but I've noticed that when driving on fsd, applying gentle active feedback on the wheel without disengaging, FSD actually moves more toward the middle of the lane and stays there, like its seeking and accepting your feedback and correction.
I've also noticed that if it truly doesn't know what to do, it will disengage much more readily and without as much resistance if you are providing active steering input.
Ive noticed that similar driver inputs are accepted by the system for the accelerator (if it hesitates at a light, intersection, or from a parking spot or driveway, a gentle tap gets it going). Maybe the system just needs more active driver feedback while its still learning?

I've kinda given up worrying about it too much for now. Yea its doing weird stuff and I use it 95% of the time but i've just come to terms with the fact that their priority is robotaxi and understandably as much as it sucks for us. Sucks as a customer, awesome as an investor.

My only guess is that they are trying to consolidate / join all the branches for hw3, 4, the new front cams for the new MY and CT and also navigate the nuance of steer by wire and rear wheel steering. But we have no idea.

I wouldn't expect much or get excited about these minor patch updates. We probably wont see any improvement until we see a patch that includes new features.....my guess is on or around the release of robotaxi.

As much as I want ASS.... its truly just a party trick at the speeds it works. The real game changer will be "banish".

I was having this problem until I had my tires rotated at the first required rotation. I ensured that I had updated the system so that the recalibration occurred. This improved the situation greatly.

My FSD also works well 95% of the time. There is one blind corner on a hill that goes down where it floors it every time. I just disengage it now before I get there, because the kids are in there with me on the way home from school. They thought it was fun the first time, but it scared the poop out of me.
