Any chance someone will make an aftermarket steering wheel? The one on the CT just feels too small and dainty to me relative to the size of the truck. I'd love a bigger, more substantial wheel

If one is made for the aftermarket it will be an addon to the current wheel, to much in the wheel with all the steer by wire, but likely be a bolt on made to make it larger, especially on the top and bottom, they did this with some other yoke style steering wheels with Teslas and the add-ons were very popular.

We talked about this in another thread at some point but you are not alone. I’m hoping fir the same. I have kind of bigger hands and hate smaller sized steering wheels. I’ll be next to you in line for a beefier steering wheel option (with no alcantara though, which is rumored to be an upcoming option from Tesla for the steering wheel on the CT—not sure why anyone would want to have to clean that on a truck steering wheel but to each their own).

cheers

I'm curious if the new Model 3 Highlander steering wheel might be a swap candidate for the squirkle on the CyberTruck.

I don't think its the shape that bothers me. It might be the overall diameter. Its definitely the thickness of the wheel, just feels so thin

I doubt that a Model 3 steering wheel would offer the improvement I would want either. The M3 steering wheel is way too thin for my hands personally. And I think I would probably like the squircle tbh… if the diameter of the rim of the wheel had a thick handfeel to it (i’m not talking about the diameter of the whole steering wheel but rather the diameter of the grip), and although I haven’t sat in a CT yet reports are that many find the steering wheel to be a bit on the small side.

I’ve always thought that auto manufacturers should have sizes for the steering wheels rather than a one size fits all approach. People have different hand sizes. My wife’s hands are tiny and so she likes her M3 steering wheel, while it feels like a children’s toy to me and is one of the few complaints I would have about her car. If driving gloves come in different sizes, the steering wheels probably should as well. I realize most don’t use driving gloves these days but i’m speaking more conceptually here.

I’d be looking for something far thicker than a M3 steering wheel to solve the issue.

FWIW

Cheers
