Tonight I went to the truck in the garage to load some items in the bed. Opened the tailgate and loaded. Upon closing the tailgate the alarm triggered. Wife that was nearby used her phone/app to command an unlock of the truck and it stopped. First time ever owning a Tesla (one of 4) that an alarm ever went off. Anyone seeing this ever? Not huge issue but made me jump in the garage when the klaxon blared.

Google shows it’s not all that rare. Especially leaving the tailgate down some have said. Put on the list of quirks I suppose.

Was the truck locked when you closed the tailgate?

In the last year of ownership this has happened to me one time.

Yes, the truck had auto-locked with the tailgate down. When I approached the truck to close the tailgate my phone was in my back pocket and the truck couldn't see it.

The obvious solution is to not set the alarm off if all someone is doing is closing the tailgate.

Had this happen at about Midnight while parked at a small U shaped motel so it was right in the middle of all the rooms. I was just having a nightcap while sitting on the tailgate before going to bed. My kids thought it was a fire alarm. Train Horn starts beeping and I think it started playing Beethoven. I shut it down as quickly as I could and slithered away into our room.

Yep, same happened to me once. As you said, the culprit is the vehicle auto locked when the tailgate was still open.

This happened to me about 1-2 months ago. Came back from a hike with my two dogs, opened the tailgate to get some towels out to dry the dogs, during that time the vehicle auto locked. When I closed the tailgate, the alarm went off…but the strange thing was there was no sound. Only the lights flashing. Then, my wife texts me telling me she got an alert that my alarm went off. Lol

I see. That is a problem, but I see the reasoning for the alarm to trigger is it was locked.

Is there a setting for playing certain music when the alarm is triggered? This happened to me and it was playing some vampire music. How do I change that? Couldn’t find it.

So mine is not an alarm sound never heard that but my lock sound does play every time I close the hatch with my phone near by and sometimes the tonneau closing triggers it, since day 1 December 3rd

Y'alls Cybertruck's were playing Beethoven or some "vampire music" when the alarm is triggered?

That is bad@$$!!! I want to see videos of what the CT alarm sounds like.

If my truck is locked, I want the alarm to go off if anyone touches it, even if they are closing the tailgate.

I had this happen to me once already and was surprised. Luckily it wasn't late. I would like to have an option to not trigger the alarm on closing the tailgate.
