All of these reviews are stating obvious points. However, they keep on leaving one comparison out of the picture, humans. Humans completely rely on sight and in times hearing. Something that Tesla’s FSD solely does already and continue building data will just make it better and better. Adding LiDar and radar does not mean it’s better. In fact it might confuse the computer with conflicting data. Tesla IMO is taking the better approach. Nothing is perfect.

I really hate people who exist only to try and force people to live like they do. I want to drive. I don't care about being amongst the people in the shared community to ride bicycles and walk amongst the wokeness. That young lady just smells like, well, nevermind, I better not get all political and stuff. 🤬

One point that nearly everyone in the media NEVER brings up is that FSD is, in principle, a platform that will only get better and better over time. The primary reason for this is that the training data and the performance of the hardware platform used to produce the neural network contained in the firmware in each Tesla will improve. I don't think there is a ceiling here. There is no ceiling on processor performance, parallel processing capability, instruction set features, or new approaches to NN processing yet to be discovered.

The number of high-quality training videos and inputs to the system to correct/steer/drive the vehicle will continue to improve, and will continue to improve even after human drivers have reached their limit. IMO, human drivers are markedly worse than they were 30 years ago because none of the collision-avoidance systems were even available then. Drivers had to do more back then than they do today (not including DWI or DUI drivers). Nearly all vehicles produced in the last 20 years have some form of driver-assistance hardware or improvements, which have allowed or encouraged drivers to become "less good" or more relaxed. I think Drunk Driving might be down today compared to 30 years ago, but I am not sure. IOW, there is an inverse relationship between driver performance and driver assistance systems.

IMO, when FSD is vastly superior to 100% of human drivers, maybe in 20 years, in the worst-case scenario, people will no longer even be allowed to drive in the first place, or rather, unable to afford to drive themselves due to insurance costs. Only then will the platform's early adopters be able to relate what it was like in 2026, when the system was pretty good but not yet "fully autonomous".

The media cannot, will not, and shall not take this approach to reporting on FSD, because it would no longer be sensational, and they would ultimately lose money. Remember, the MSM couldn’t care less about the truth or accurate reporting if there’s even the smallest risk of marginalizing their revenue trends.
