It does feel dishonest to be lied about the pre-order numbers which Elon referenced on earnings calls. The announced backorder convinced me that i would not lose 40k in value by the end of the first year of ownership. You expect depreciation but this is high by any standard.

We accepted and assumed a certain level of issues as early adopters but its getting ridiculous.

My truck is headed back into the service center for issues with regen jerking the car (similar to a standard car when you don't press the clutch correctly). 3rd time for the same issue. The AC sounds like a leaf blower when i turn it on, i've been told that is correct function.

Its my 2nd TESLA, the S is decent, but I'm not sticking with TESLA after this.

I like the truck and design, disappointing that it working out this way.

I hope everyone else has better luck with their truck.
I am second this! Not really sure want to stick with Tesla after Cybertruck. Like the design but suck low quality for 80k truck, I can see a few parts starting moving after 2 months own it

I get your frustration. But to be fair, I don't think that Tesla deliberately "lied about the pre-order numbers". I think that Tesla really did have 2 million+ preorders, and that they really did expect overwhelming demand for the CT on that basis. I’m sure that Tesla was just as shocked and surprised as anyone else when they realized that only a tiny percentage of those preorders were turning into actual sales.

This is so spot on. The 40k haircut in the first year is pretty ridiculous compared to expectations. We all bought ourselves a coffin in this deal.

Meh. No sour grapes. EVs depreciate. Y’all bought into something that y’all knew would shit the bed from a cost perspective. I bought it because I am a tech bro. Coolest sh*t out there and this is coming from a guy who drives top of line $100k Ford trucks. I still get amazed when I drive it. If you bought it for holding value , you shoulda had it shipped to your house and stuck it on a charger for 30 years hoping the batteries don’t expand. Then maybe you can add some coin like owning a used original iPod.

I walked into this knowing it would depreciate rapidly, I look at it as money foregone with the understanding that it gives me pleasure every time I drive it. That’s it. It’s like buying a $200 bottle of whiskey. Poor investment, but you sure are happy while consuming it.

We all took a risk in buying a v1.0. For many of us it worked out. For some of us, we took a hit. That’s the issue with being on the forefront and being the first.

But nobody put a gun to anyone’s head. Tesla always allowed you to refund that $100 before you pressed “Order”. It’s not like anyone has been swindled. They have been stand up and are taking care of issues as they come along… so kudos to them. Welcome to being the first in line.

If you want near guaranteed quality, then always wait until bugs are worked out and the reviews have come in. Then make a choice. Want that guaranteed 120k quality vehicle? Go buy a Mercedes.

agree on all front, except about Mercedes being “guaranteed quality” ;-)

I saw on another tread that a owner bought a new FS just for free supercharging and is selling his listed on this site. Now what happens if Elon does make it right. He will be super pissed. I have just seen CarGur with over 200 CT for sale under many under $85k. I contacted them and they offered me $66k. I think its a tough sell at $85 with FSC available from T with new FS. I was tempted to sell mine but I think I would have let it go for like $78 perhaps lower. But I only have a few days to decide. Boy If I did and and if E made it right I would be super pissed. MIRE

Sounds like your currently mad at No free supercharging, but then planning to get mad if “e made it right“ and provides free supercharging.
Must be fun at a party hey? Haha

So no sign of Free Supercharging for early Foundation Series adopters, but in less than 24 hours, there will be no more Free Supercharging for late FS adopters either. Today is the final day for that incentive:
Customers who purchase a new Cybertruck Foundation Series are eligible for free Supercharging during your ownership of the vehicle. Order must be placed on or after December 27, 2024 and must be delivered by January 31, 2025.

Yea that is correct. Let’s see if Tesla extends that offer since the Foundation series are flying out of the lots so fast.

Elon hasn’t tweeted about Tesla related stuff in 6mo or more right? Unfortunately he’s too distracted to help us. Hopefully someone gets through. If the Fuhrer only knew he would put a stop to the injustice.

I just spot-checked Tesla inventory for a few locations in California. And yeah, as of today there are still Foundation Series CTs available -- only saw FS AWDs, no FS CBs. They still haven't disappeared completely, so you could be right.

NE Ohio region Tesla shows 19 CyberBeasts and AW CTs available with FSC. Also there are two AW unit with 50 miles on them priced under $75,000 and one priced at $79,000. If we would have waited we could have saved $20,000 which is probably more than lifetime SC. Forget the 24o and 120 lines. Forget the dividers and clips and sunscreen. All the extras were overprice. I have cordless tools. I don't own a welder. I ordered my CT because I was told it would be a 4 year wait. Because of my age I took the deal. OW I would have not taken the Foundation series if I wouldn't have been led to believe there was such a demand.
