Anyone else claim to have this experience with the steering? I don’t think I believe this guy.

I have ene driving class for over a month and steering on ct is one of the best feature and experience. I drove my Porsche and steering was a lot of empty spinning the steering wheel during a reverse and u turning.

Having said that, on CT, I don’t have it dialed in and can’t seem to park straight due to the steer by wire.

My gf wants a new car and I've convinced her to wait for the (I made it up, but it seems likely) Model S refresh with steer by wire. If that doesn't come, then I'll get something else that adds the feature for our second car.

When i take the M3P and not the CT, the first left turn I take every day always involves me understeering and almost hitting a curb. I have to train my mind to spin the wheel like a maniac, versus the much more relaxing motions in steering the CT.

haha! My backup skills are improving daily, yesterday I backed into a parking spot in one shot, oh ok I pulled forward to be sure but yeah it takes some getting use to for sure. Seeing the back wheels turn is wow!

I expect we’ll all get better with manual parking after watching how auto parking works!

Does anyone believe this? In other words, has anyone else felt this way?
Smells like BS to me, but I’m open to being told otherwise here by genuine owners of a CyberTruck. Sure hasn’t been my experience. In fact, it’s the exact opposite from my experience.

Note, this was in the responses to an online hit-piece article about the CyberTruck reportedly “raising their prices by $20,000” (totally false claim). A link to the article is posted in another thread started by another member. Anyway, it makes me wonder if it’s a phony claim.

If anything the steering is almost too sensitive. There is zero noticeable lag. It took a couple of days to keep me from over correcting (slightly). I’m always suspicious about posts which claims their tesla is the best they’ve ever owned…but…. (Invariably followed by a serious dealbreaker of a defect) I know Kyle from out of spec YouTube channel showed (in an empty lot) if he whipped the steering back and forth as far as steering would allow as quickly as possible, driving at slow speed there was some minor lag. But that is an unrealistic use case and one you couldnt even attempt in traditional steering (for you can’t physically turn the wheel that fast).

As a looong time Porsche owner (I have three now) and now having several months of driving with my CyberBeast I can categorically say I have NOT seen this at all. In fact the Beast can best my 2021 992 Turbo S on tight turns along California's Hwy 1 coast road.

That said perhaps this individual drove a defective Cybertruck - as we all know they are entirely new technology and software. So that might explain this individuals single experience.

This guy is full of shit.. I'd be very sensitive to any lag if that's the case, I literally autocross and track sports and exotic cars and steering input is crucial to me.

The steering is the absolute best feature of this truck and it's hands down one of the best steering inputs I've ever experienced in a vehicle.

Everone is different. Especially physically, so most of us have none of these problems a few will.

I worked on a 3D surgical vision product - it works amazing...but about 1 in 10 persons could not use it, felt disphoria and their brain did not register the image as 3D.

In fact I had to start demonstrations with stating that, some few will not be able to experience it.

I will say when I am a passanger in a Tesla I can get nausea when they are driving aggressively. When I've been on track race days...as a passenger I take Dramamine.

It's more diplomatic to say 'For me...." but that does not get clicks.

After Driving my CT for 3 weeks straight - every other cor including a Mercedes AMG seems clumsy and non-responsive. The CT drives better than the Model X. It is the future of how vehicles should drive.

Regards
Jack

Not impossible I agree.
I’ve just become so cynical due to all the fake stories about the CyberTruck.

Good points.
But if this guy‘s account is true, I wouldn’t think it’d be due to a lag in the steering response as he indicates. Unless, as someone else suggested, there was a defect in that particular truck. And the entire article and the rest of the comments were nearly unanimous in downing the CyberTruck. So it just didn’t add up to me. Especially when compared to the experiences related from actual owners on this site. Felt like an intentional hit piece to me. There are a lot of people aiming to ruin Elon Musk, so I don’t discount that either. Like him or not (full disclosure: I’m a fan and own a chunk of Tesla stock that we’ve recently purchased), the overwhelming response to the CyberTruck on this forum is positive. It doesn’t track with the fact there are so many negative articles written about it. Which is what makes it suspect to me.
But I admit I have zero proof to the contrary of what this guy claims beyond my own experience, and what others share here. Likewise, he offered nothing but his word to back up his claim. So I started this thread to get a sanity check on the popularity of the steering versus my own experience, and to test the waters, looking for a lIke claim as he puts forth. It just seems so contrary to everything I’ve experienced and heard about the steering. And that’s why I have a hard time believing what he said he experienced with his supposed test drive. In the end I’ll never know one way or another with an absolute surety. But smells bad to me.
