What an odd way to take that...

Again, we aren't making these policies...we are just echoing the companies stance and how unwilling they are to bend on it.

Again, there have been multiple examples of this from Tesla over the years and they stand firm.

Do you expect us to say, "You may have a shot" when it's completely untrue? It looks like everyone here says it's poor customer relations...so no one is enjoying it. They can go to court, but there are examples of this on TMC and Tesla simply refunded the deposit and cancelled the order.
No like I said you can think whatever you like. I find the collectivism of a group interesting in one format and then interesting in another. Just an observation.

I’ll hold my SAWD order as long as possible to give them a chance to figure out the right thing to do with HW3 lifetime FSD people. Or not offer transfers at their own peril and cancel the order and get my $250 back.

I agree with op. Changing terms after an order has been placed is poor customer service. That some folks have come to accept that as standard practice is another story. Left a bad taste when I saw that. They’ve for the most part been good about taking care of my cars under warranty so I’ll give them that. Just a sketch move on their part to change up the wording on principle.
which terms have been changed? terms only apply to signing an actual agreement.

Noo! Take the truck. It has embedded walk off the lot value. Or at a minumium a cushion until prices revert to that or some other 10 day promo that ends at anytime. Yep I said that. A 10 day promo that can end a anytime.

"Bad Customer Service" is not a legal, contractual or technical term, its 100% subjective. I agree with OP that the way Tesla did an apparent 180° (if you didn't read the fine print) is bad customer service.

Everyone who is pointing out that Tesla is allowed to do it, are missing the entire point. The policy is real, Tesla does have the right. At the same time its bad customer service to pull the rug out from someone.

Maybe if the original offer was "Maybe if you are lucky and we don't change our mind you can transfer FSD by the time we complete the order" we could have avoided this outcome.

Edit: To OP, in my experience Tesla is 100% inflexible when it comes to policy and they almost never make exceptions or reverse their decisions. Dont hold your breath.

Agree.

It's funny because the things that people complain about the dealership experience like the back-and-forth with the manager and having to push and maybe visit several franchises to get a good deal, are exactly the things that some people seem to miss. That's why they'll never die. OP here wants to go in all Karen, ask for the manager, and demand a better deal. That's just.. not how it works in a corporate store.
Also the same crowd that refuses to upload an MPA into Grok and say "hey, tell me all the things I'll need to look out for. what are common complaints. thanks"

Tesla should never be on the hook for people not understanding the terms and conditions of any special programs they introduce.

You realize Tesla has been very open to cool programs, and then have to draw them back when people blatantly violate the agreements and take advantage of the company. Take free supercharging for example, do you know how many times they have found people running rideshares full time while being in the program?

This isn't a one sided issue with Tesla being the scapegoat.

You work for tesla?
nope, but one of my hobbies is calling people on their internet BS.

It doesn't sound like you want to actually discuss this though because I've asked you several times to clarify what you mean here.

Probably more so than you are to be honest, but yes. I'd like to hear you elaborate.
