I placed a reservation for 2 of the 250 mile range versions the day it went live to order. The George Jetson looks hooked me when it originally debuted around 10 years ago. I think the Biden administration will be adding federal incentives for BEV’s in the near future which will help lower the price. If the market is right to flip for a profit I will keep the reservations.

Yeah, aero shells have disadvantages, though.

Oh, he went thru things and the thread is long and covers many of the issues encountered, but much less hassle than I thought it would be.

I think an aeroshelled Arcimoto would be VERY efficient, but look very strange to many people on the road. I would love to see that, but I am guessing their sales might suffer and the cost would be higher.

"aeroshelled Arcimoto" - reminds me of the Corbin Motors Sparrow.

Not as sporty as an Arcimoto though.

Yeah, shells have durability issues, they have access issues, and the big one is crosswinds. They can push or lift which can be bad.

I'd like to see them on the road and then I'd like to see the price about $10k cheaper.

Will the Aptera qualify for any tax breaks? Does Biden have any tax breaks in the works for EVs?

Currently the Aptera qualifies as a motorcycle. But we have no idea for what will come next.

It does seem kinda unfair that people can get 12k for a truck to commute in but we don't get 12k for an Aptera or e-bike.

The body needs to switch to a lifting body design.

Intrigued, optimistic, would like to see how the performance at speed and cornering, it will either be awesome or a nailbitter.

Generally, John, you don't want your wheels to leave the tarmac... then they just spin.

-Crissa
Well, the assumption was to have a pusher motor so I skim at a hover along the coast ignoring the 405 freeway. ?

I can say with certainty, this car/trike does not need a garage during the day.

my wife would be interested, this way I can drive too. This vehicle would be great to power a home at rest too.

only thing staying my hand at a reservation, quality of the motor, batteries and safety rating. I am ok with risk, not ok with risking family. A bit hypocritical of me.

The “1000“ mile range is to drool over.

Skeptical

Why? It's just whether they can get the batteries or not.

-Crissa
if can get batteries and my driving profile. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds… maybe it will just be for my use

Driving and the steps needed for maximum range, boring.

Should get a speed boost if taken to the salt flats ?
