Camping with a 270-degree view of the Grand Canyon at Point Sublime was amazing.

Superchargers en route are at Kanab, Utah or Page, Arizona.

To make it to Point Sublime, you need to use the RV campground 50 or 30 amp plugs at Kaibab Camper Village.

To get to Point Sublime from Kaibab Camper Village, take paved 67 South, and then put your truck in off-road mode for out 30 miles of 4-x-4-ing. The last about 20 miles you will want to go slow. Here is the route.

FR 22 West; FR 270 (left); FR 223 (right); FR 268 (left this leads to the unmonitered back entrance-gate into Grand Canyon National Park from the Coconino County forest roads); FR 268-B (left) Once inside the Park the roads are not marked as “Forest Roads” or identifed well with any numbering system: inside the park this is the “Kanabownitz” trail; take it about 15 miles in slow 4x4 to reach Point Sublime.

You need a permit to camp at Point Sublime, but no permit needed for day-tripping. We overlapped our reservation at Kaibab Camper Village so that we could charge on the return trip.

Happy Cybertrucking, All!

A couple more epic places to camp and away from others is Muley Point at the top of Mokee Dugway, and John’s Canyon near the Goosenecks state Park. These are not far from Bluff Utah which has the famous Recapture Lodge with free level 2 charging. The Recapture and the town of Bluff is a great place to hang out a few days!

Anyone driving this will want to make sure their bed is sealed as much as possible because there are sections of silty dust that will invade everywhere…

I'll be glamping at the Trailer Village RV Park, so I'm assuming South Rim? :)
Yes. That’s south rim. I’d make reservations for dinner at the El Tovar lodge. They can be hard to get and it’s the best “nice” meal you can get there.

Point Sublime has been on my bucket list for places to do some photography and camp for ages. I just haven't been down to the SW for ages. At least of 2 decades ago there was distributed camping in some parts of the national forest. Always talk with the NF office to find out current distributed camping areas and applicable closures. Areas can be closed for any reason. Abused areas unfortunately is often why.
