FSD is available as a subscription now. I tried it for a month. Meh. I have standard AP, and do wish for the EAP features. It was not available for my car (2019 M3LR). I would not pay $6k for it. That's absolutely retarded. And $200/mo for FSD is too. For me, AP removes about 95% of the driving chores, or maybe at least 90%. So I have to manage lane changes and turns. I have AP on nearly all the time. So the bump to managed lane changes or full self driving is a tiny upgrade in my view.

Didn't I read somewhere that FSD could become a monthly subscription?
I do very little big city driving or long distance driving.
It would be nice if I could just order it for whatever time I need it and have it show up on my CC statement at the end of the month.
Since there is prob going to be sticker shock when it comes time to do my final order adding a big ticket item will not be an option for me.
It will also be interesting to see if Tesla gets into the financing business to further increase their revenue stream along with insurance.
If I could buy from, finance and insure with Tesla for comparable or cheaper rates I'd jump on it.

I think it has been available on subscription for a while.

That's what I intend to do. Subscribe when I'll be going inter-state on a long road trip so I can nap along the way.

FSD is least useful on long trips, and most useful in town. I'm going to CA tomorrow and thought about subscribing, for fun and to have it the horrible CA traffic. But for the trip, it would mostly just add auto lane changing.

12k FSD would be a steal to me if came with robotic arm to allow sending vehicle out by itself to pick up drive-thru.
And since you are in LA, that robotic arm should have quick trigger that can do that universal California one-finger freeways salute.

For that, you need Optimus.

The irony is that there will probably be a robot handing over the food.

How long until it gets the Compton mod to do drive-bys for you?

That salute is way more universal than just California. When I was driving in the UK and still trying to get my head around the right hand drive of the car AND driving on the left side of the road, I may have made some less than ideal maneuvers. I learned that salute is definitely international.

Europeans are right! Enough of this US cultural imperialism.
