I just had my cybertruck in to have the cantrails replaced before I take my truck in to get wrapped in a few days so I wouldn’t need to rewrap it later. I did not expect to receive a worse truck than I brought in. A combination of new scuffs/scratches and completely unaligned pieces has left me in shock. I have learned to not expect perfection from Tesla but this it outright shameful. I messaged the service advisor and he said I can bring it in next week but I have absolutely zero confidence that they won’t screw up my brand new wrap job so I would prefer to do it myself if possible. If I push on the top of the bed side panel it aligns with the new cantrail, so is there a way to tighten the bed side panels closer to the body? Thanks

Unfortunately there’s been worse ones shown on here. It pays to ask around about the local service centers and figure out which ones are competent and actually care about their work.

If you’re set on doing it yourself, this is the official way of doing it: https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...UID-7B9154B0-0197-413A-899A-0FF3FA01B788.html

Not to get your hopes up, but right at the end of the process, it talks about only tightening one of the nuts until the panel is flush. Yours looks like they just cranked it down with the might of Zeus, so fingers crossed for a simple fix for you.

UPDATE: I took matters into my own hands and greatly improved the alignment. Turns out that Tesla overtightened the bolt that holds the rear of the cantrail on. I loosened it by about half a turn and it’s drastically better now. Not perfect but you can’t expect perfect with these trucks. Good enough!

That was exactly right. I only pulled up the roof appliqué and loosened the one bolt in the rear and it drastically improved the alignment. Thanks!

I fully agree that the install was poorly done.

Why did you not leave the vehicle for a re-repair? No loaner provided?
I picked up the truck right after they closed and it’s about an hour drive from my house. And I have an appointment to get my truck wrapped on Monday so I couldn’t risk them holding onto it any longer. I got it resolved myself for the most part. Good enough for me

I would include those photos in your service review so they pay more attention to such things on other trucks they do in the future. Not everyone is mechanically inclined enough to fix it themselves.

Here are the results of my replacement at the Bernalillo, NM service center. This is their 2nd attempt. Suggestions of how to escalate this?

What is happening in the service centers? Where's the pride in the job, if not from the tech, from the supervisors that sign off on the job? And this is for something they've done 100's of times, it's kind of outrageous that the customer has to fix the alignment themselves. Every time I see one of these posts I look to see if it's DFW, since I've had a horrible time with the Fort Worth SC, but it seems as if many are dropping the ball.
