After watching dash cam recordings of a couple guys walking around my truck, I realized there are two big blind spots by each front wheel. Any ideas why we can’t see video from the B-Pillar cameras in the Camera App or Dash Cam recording views?

There is yet another side camera footage that doesn't show up on the car's screen. you have to take out the memory chip in the glove compartment put it in your computer and look at ALL the files. sorry I dont remember how its labeled but it shows another camera angle that for me was useful to see the face of the driver that tried to occupy the same lane as the one I was in. This may however not work for you if you did not trigger (honk horn) it to capture and retain the footage. Try it.

Tesla’s system only makes a subset of the available camera feeds available in the Dash Cam and Camera App. The B-pillar cameras—positioned by the front wheels—are primarily used for Autopilot and safety functions and are not integrated into the dash cam display. This design choice (or limitation) means that while they help the vehicle “see” for driving assistance, you won’t see their view in your recordings, which can result in blind spots near the front wheels.

If this behavior has recently increased or you’re concerned it might be abnormal, it could be worth checking for a new OTA update or opening a service ticket.

Just to make sure we're all using the same terminology:

Tesla Cybertruck B-pillar cameras - anyone else irritated we can’t see them in the camera app views or dashcam recordings {filename}

  1. Rear camera
  2. B-pillar camera
  3. Front cameras (2 forward cams, 1 interior)
  4. Repeater camera
  5. Bumper camera

AFAIK, all cameras except #5 are used for FSD. Only #1, #3, and #4 are available in Sentry/Teslacam (and I believe only the forward wide-view is included). The interior cam is available for remote-viewing, but is not recorded.

I've heard of people getting the B-pillar footage from Tesla after a collision, because all telematics are uploaded to the Mother Ship after an incident.

If battery drainage is a concern then that should be determined by the user. I’m ok with a Sentry (enhanced) mode spending more energy in specific situations. A crazy idea would be powering the cameras from an external battery in the bed of the trunk. Like rangeextender

It seems you can now see there cameras in sentry mode. At least with dog mode on you can.
