I got it on Sunday and just got time around to have a little review of it.

At first I have no idea where is the air filter at, googled and found a helpful youtube can avoid breaking the tabs while changing it.

Here is the Basenor box.

I need to pull out my frunk mat to have room at the bottom for removing the original one.

I pulled out the OEM filter.

As you can see, after almost 11 months my OEM is still pretty clean. I guess because I'm always use air circulation. I'm not sure I'll notice the difference. The Basenor is pretty solid feel, fit perfect, not feel cheap just like the OEM or if not even better. I'll see after use in the next few weeks.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear that your OEM filter has stayed clean, and we appreciate you giving the BASENOR filter a try. Looking forward to your feedback after a few weeks of use! ???

Basenor Cabin Air Filter Review: Santa’s Sleigh Gets a Breath of Fresh Air

I recently swapped out the OEM cabin filter for the Basenor replacement, thanks to their generosity in sending me one to test. As always, I’ll do whatever I can to help relieve Mrs. Claus’s allergies—and if this filter makes a difference, it gets an automatic thumbs up. Of course, if she didn’t insist on driving around the neighborhood with one rear window down, that would probably help even more… (again, hit the switch without realizing—classic).

I documented the removal and installation process, but honestly, it looks just like the ones posted above. The real challenge wasn’t the install—it was convincing myself to start pulling apart my brand-new Cybertruck for no apparent reason. That took a strong dose of Wrangler Iced Tea. The hardest part? Just getting over that mental speed bump.

Once I got started, I found that prying at one corner and working across was the easiest way to remove the facing. It popped off cleanly once I got the first bit loose.

Now, for the nerve-wracking part—removing the filter cover. I’d read horror stories about people snapping off the tabs right out of the gate, so I proceeded with extreme caution. First, I pushed down on the right-side tab, then the middle, and finally the left… which refused to budge. My first instinct? Grab some channel locks and force it loose. My smarter self said, “Bad idea.”

This is where the supplied pry tool came in clutch. Applying manual pressure on the tab while pressing down with my thumb, I got it to release without a fight. Victory!

The old filter slid out easily (and was still surprisingly clean). I swapped in the new one, snapped everything back into place, and boom—mission accomplished.

Now, how do I actually review this product? If it’s doing its job, we’ll never know—because odors are invisible. But on faith alone, I’m glad it’s in there.

One last note—the installation manual includes a link to Tesla’s DIY filter replacement guide, which is spot-on and describes the process exactly as I’ve outlined.

Enjoy, my friends!

Quality for less. That about sums up the Basenor Air Filter. Seems beefier than OEM at less cost. Basenor was generous enough to supply me a test unit and I finally had an opportunity to install it. The video below is short and sweet. Installation takes minutes and after a weeks worth of use, it seems to be filtering well. I would highly recommend this as an alternative to the OEM unit.
