Bed Tent Support using Extruded Aluminum - anyone?

I'm looking for a more discrete design to the overlanding bed setup. Has anyone used Extruded Aluminum (8020 or T-Slots) to create a hinged popup over the rear bed? With a floor-less popup on top, this could be a streamlined approach to keep the same body-lines of the CT while driving. Once parked for setup, the rear could lift and secure to create a level surface for the upper shelter tent setup.
