Hi! Nice to meet another local. You should hit up Hemiarch as he is another local and an awesome dude.

I’ve only had the S92 installed for about 2 days now. I’ve not (yet?) seen the heat issue. I do park in the sun from about 7:30 AM to 1 or 2 PM. I do also use overheat protection set at 100 degrees.

People describing the issue say above 70 degrees or so, right, when the problem kicks in? My interior has been warmer than that and I’ve not seen the issue yet, knock on wood.
Thank you

Yes. There is a nice big button at the very bottom. One press for on and one press for off.
I will probably attempt this this weekend. I am dropping off the truck tomorrow for service for a recall for the drive inverter (https://www.tesla.com/support/recall-cybertruck-inverter-replacement), and to see why my bed outlet is loose. I don’t want to give them any ammo so I’ll wait until I get it back. If it can be turned off and on easily I think I am just going to tap into the OBD for power first and see how that works and try to remember to turn it off when I get out. Do you happen to know if there is a power down timer built in in case I forget. I’m not sure if I should be concerned about the 12v drain if I forget to turn it off. Thanks.

I wouldn’t be concerned about drain but if you’re going to just do a temp install thing, isn’t it easier just to plug into a usb?

I guess I’m not sure. I thought the mirror only had the 12v for power and a remote for on/off. Wouldn’t I need some sort of adapter to plug in to USB? My thought was to just use something like this and run it down the drivers side pillar and under the carpet to the OBD port.

Did you try just using the included rubber pieces to put the Wolfbox over the CT mirror? Looks like that would fit, although maybe not as clean of a looking install.
Here is what I did. Not my best work but it's working. The mirror is not as stable as I'd like. There is a small shake sometimes when driving. It's not like I'm always looking at the mirror so it's fine.

So for technical mastery in DIY, CT_AZ_4x4 is your guy. Seriously, if you haven’t gathered from his posts he is incredibly capable.
I on the other hand am a little bougie and paid someone to do my mirror.
A really good guy named Kornell Lloyd.
Runs a local shop called district teslas.
He’s done a fair amount of work on several of our cars.
Here is a promo he made a while back with my car which has since evolved considerably.
Anyhow, not a plug but if you’d like me to make a text introduction or anything, just DM.
He’s now very familiar with the s92 due to the issues i had in my car.

See my post on page three. There are two wires I tapped into under the cover like the guy did in the video. I linked the two items I used. The one item steps the 12V/24V to 5V Converter to USB-C. The other is just to tap into those wires without having to splice.

Here is what I'd like like - a dual external wireless camera rear view mirror.

This would allow a camera mounted high for the rear and one mounted in the bed with no wires. There are solar options that come with a separate monitor. Would be great if the monitor was a rear view mirror. Simple install. I'll take the trade off of recharging the cameras if necessary.

You could use the wolfbox tripro. The solar cams are way cool though

Oh interesting, I did a quick dry-fit and it looked like the rubber straps would be enough to hold it in place. Zip ties are not a bad option though.

haha thanks! Holding out for a proper mount... The Wolfbox specs with 2.5k rear and 4k front and the Sony chip is what convinced me to purchase this model. Other models have a nice mount and hide wires better but they came out after this purchase. Early adopter pit falls.

Hansshow sent me the new 2.0 Mirror and I received it today. Not sure how I feel about installing another one of these to test. If I do, I’ll probably not do a permanent install and just test it for a couple of weeks first. Anyway, this thing is HUGE! About 1ft long. I think it might look too gigantic in the Cybertruck

Would love to see your install And see how it works!
