ceramic coating a matte or satin finish is a no-no if you’re planning on keeping the vehicle for more than a couple years….Note: ceramic coating has to be reapplied after 2-3 years (depending on use, sun exposure, washing frequency, etc) and at that time the remaining existing coating needs to be removed or “leveled”…to do that you must use a polishing wheel….problem with that is it affects the finish meaning it becomes more shiny in the process thus ruining the homologous finish.Wilson Customs in Murfreesboro TN - Talk to Pele McDaniels or Jake Wilson
It's the Satin Black GSWF Defender PPF 8mm Thick
The Tint is a ceramic, but don't know exactly what brand. Matched the color of the OEM rear window tint. I think they are 40% visible light through, which is just over the legal limit of 35% VL. Windshield is 70% VL. And the wrap and all external plastic parts got the ceramic coating to help with water spots and keep the black color as close to OG as possible.
Which is why I used only a hydrophobic topping that does not require leveling like a ceramic coating.
Unfortunately most shops don’t tell you this…
the good news is you’re protected for the next couple years and it looks great…out of sight; out of mind! ?
