Has anyone attempted to blend such misaligned edges? Assuming that this is untreated stainless with no finish coating, a metal grinder/file with the proper precautions to not damage the adjacent surfaces should be able to remove enough material to at least give the appearance of an aligned edge.

Any thoughts on this?

The leading edges use bolts to attach and has some adjustability. The remainder of the trim snap in place.

I couldn’t stand it anymore as my eye was drawn to this etch now since a few weeks. I secured a thin metal plate to the glass roof with painters tape to protect it, and blended the misaligned etch over the length of a few inch manually with a file until it was even. Looks like it was meant to be. Within specs my a$$.

Your fix looks fine to me.

Here is a tip from a YouTuber named Chuck regarding how to make other trim panel adjustments by lighting/loosening fastener that are accessible through existing gaps. It's worth a viewing.
