My wife got into an accident because when she turned her blinker on to change lanes, there was a car in her blind spot although the screen turns red iit does not chime
She feels it’s too hard to find the red on the screen and that if it chimed the little fender bender wouldn’t have happened
I noticed in my cyber truck it doesn’t chime either when there’s something in the blind spot and I turned my blinker on even though in both the model three and the Cybertruck, we have it set to chime
Anybody got any answers?

Mine chimes when there is a vehicle near a blind spot; in daylight I rarely can see the light at the base of A Pilar (speaker frame). I presume you have everything turned on & volume up.

They called Blindspot because when you use your mirrors, you cannot see a car
Turning your head, I don’t think it’s an option looking at the screen maybe but
if the damn chime chimed like it’s supposed to you, don’t gotta worry about it

You’re right, Tesla’s fault.

I has zero blind spots in my truck. I also drive all the time with the cameras up on the screen. Not the blinker activated ones. And if I was to flip the blinker on and approach the lane with the car it does chime loudly fast beeeps beeeps same beep if you get a “please take over immediately “ siren. I don’t think it chimes when you don’t use your blinker. Never tested that side of it myself.

Is there any way to leave the camera screen on by default?

I’m not sure I ever hear a blind spot chime. I always look for the little lights on the pillar as I turn my head to check along side. I sometimes check the screen, but for a move to the left I rarely do.

Did she ever consider using her actual eyes?

I modified my screen so the camera button is the first icon. Press and hold drag to location etc, Unfortunately after coming out of reverse it goes back to map and I just push that button to bring it back up Otherwise it’s stays up the whole time, swipe up down for front or rear cam. Also noticed after this recent update that it now also gives a blinker cam view in addition. That’s really nice, hope they keep it that way.

I guess the blinker camera view in the selected camera view is new because one reason I didn’t drive around in that mode was it did not give you the red bar blindspot warnings.

Have you never been shocked to see someone in your blind spot? Maybe you had to change lanes to avoid a collision with someone who did not see you in their blind spot and did not have time to look carefully.
