This is the inside of my ~10 yr old stainless steel coffee cup. I'm not one of those guys who does not clean my cup. So if you have the time (decade or so) and the resources (massive pool of coffee to dunk the CT into and let sit for ~20 minutes a day). You too could have a brown CT!

You and I have different definitions of the word "clean"

I’ll second the acid method and fill it with vinegar for about thirty minutes scrub and repeat if necessary. If I want my CT to be brown I’ll just drive it down a dirt road.

Yeah, someone needs to apply a little elbow grease to the Brillo pad.

Um no. This mug is dishwasher safe, so I'll save my elbow grease for more important things and let the automation continue to take care of the dishes. I'm sure it's fine.

Cleaning coffee stains from stainless steel is easy.

Boiling water a tablespoon of TSP and let it sit overnight should do it.
Be careful not to get TSP solution of power on skin...

I use to clean aircraft coffee containers this way.

Cleaning SS
Oli wipe in Grain Direction I wipe all my SS kitchen appliances with soft cloth and WD-30 or any nonfood oil. Wipe SS w oil in grain direction only
Cleaning SS Damage
Oil + Scotch bright (green) in metal grain direction.
you are the ONLY one ive seen that cleans SS in the grain direction..(i do it as well). Ugh, it makes me uneasy when i see people who clean a sink with a swirling motion...

I wonder how many CT's will have swirl marks..
