I've got a lot of bug splats on my CT. How long before you all think the bug goo will stain or etch the stainless steel? I'd like to put off cleaning it until the weekend.

It doesn’t. I’m lazy to clean mine. I wait weeks or months. Get some bug cleaning spray… let it sit and clean it with some elbow grease. Follow it up with some glass clean spray (Sprayway?) and you won’t see anything. If you do… a little BKF will take it right out.

I had crazy amount of dried dead bugs this summer and I tried that exodorma stuff, was awesome. Sprayed, waited 5 mins and sprayed off with hose. Done. It’s legit.

I live in Florida, hardly ever clean them off (I wait for next rain storm). Never see damage to stainless. Wouldn't worry about it.

Good to hear the finish won't get damaged. Getting it off isn't an issue. It's the effect of procrastination creating a lot more work for me.

Yeah… it’s futile work… that’s why I procrastinate. Every drive I go on 3/4 of the year it gets covered in bugs and cleaning them off after every drive is a real PITA for me. So yeah, I procrastinate until my front is dark with 1000s of bugs, then I clean it. It’s one of the big negatives of having that flat front.

Search on this forum. I provided a recipe for it which you can make it for pennies on the dollar. It’s just 15% citric acid.
